Queen Maxima of The Netherlands presents the award from the Prince Bernhard Culture Price 2015 (Prince Bernhard Culture Fund) at the Muziektheater on November 30, 2015 in Amsterdam. (The award, 150.000 euro, was presented to architect Francine Houben)

I can forgive Maxima anything, the awful hair, the bizarre clothes, the strange faces, because she
gives the feeling she is glad to be at whatever function she is at, she seems friendly and willing to put people at their ease.  No snotty looks and eye rolling (Kate), a very warm and caring person.

Dunno if Mathilde owns it as well (odds are high - I still think they get a rebate when they buy the same one), but for Max it is indeed a repeat - she wore it in March this year when opening a canal which got her name:

I don't follow Max too closely. Curious to know if she makes meaningful comments when she participates in these microfinance forums.

Yes she worked in banking for a few years before marriage, and it's great she can apply her experience to these microfinance causes, but AFAIK she wasn't any sort of expert on this stuff when she was a banker. Not even sure she has an MBA degree. I'm certain she doesn't have a Ph.D. in business.
So without the deep experience in banking she would've gotten if she worked in banking longer and without the intellectual depth an advanced degree in business would've given her, how much does she really contribute to these forums? Does she make empty comments (like Mary) or does she make comments that point to deep knowledge of finance and its applications?

According to her Wiki:

"..She grew up in the Recoleta neighbourhood of Buenos Aires city, and studied at Northlands School, a bilingual school of the city of Olivos. She graduated with a degree in Economics from the Pontifical Catholic University of Argentina in 1995, and later completed her studies with a Master's degree in the United States..."

But hell yeah Wiki is relatively subjective.

IIRC, her job (JPMorgan Chase?) prior to marriage was more for business development among wealthy Latin Americans who want to invest in the US or wealthy Hispanics in the US who want to invest abroad. I'm guessing it's in the private banking or wealth management division. Given her family connections in Argentina and her Spanish, it's a natural fit. JPM loooooooooooves hiring the scions of the rich or powerful for those positions. It's investigated for violating the US's anti-corruption law by hiring the children of Chinese leaders in China and paying them for doing nothing.

I have no doubt she knows something about wealth management and various investment vehicles etc. But microfinance involves lending to very small businesses. Lending and credit risk management are fields very different from wealth management and private banking. Maybe she has become an expert after working for the cause for so many years after marriage. Unless we can watch or hear what she said in these conferences, it's hard to tell.

She looks like a clown. Spijkers&Spijkers have some good pieces now and then. But imo most of their designs are to weird, especially with regard to combinations of colors
