Does anybody know some of the songs they play at royal weddings? I'm helping a friend plan hers and I want to get some music for her to listen to. Thanks!

It depends on each royal family...

F&M's wedding:
-G.F.Händel, Zadok the Priest (traditionally used at British coronations)
-Toccata, Charles Widor.

Spanish Royals (Cristina and Letizia) had Händel's Hallelujah, from The Messiah.

British royals:
-Trumpet Tune and Air, Purcell.
-Prince of Denmark's march, also called Trumpet Voluntary,by Jeremiah Clarke.
-Pomp and Circumstance by Edward Elgar
-Let the Bright Seraphim, by Händel (my personal favourite)

I found Zodacs priest at M&F wedding a bit strange, esp. since the "Prince of Denmark" would have been such a fitting choice, maybe to obvious for them.

Follow this link: http://www.amazon.com/The...qid=1198594330&sr=8-1 -- I have a copy of this CD and it contains some beautiful music. You can sample the songs.

Numner 8 --- Trumpet Voluntary
Number 9 -- Canon in D by Pachelbel (This can be played as guest are arriving)
Number 11 -- Fanfare in D Major (This was the song used on Masterpiece Theatre)
Number 14 --- The Arrival of Sheba
Number 16 --- Alla hornpipe from Water Music
Number 18 --- Prelude from Te Deum (Beautiful)
Number 20 --- Handel's Hallelujah

Here's the music for today's wedding. Ceremony to reception.

Musik ved modtagelse af gæster (Ved Prinsens Musikkorps):
Prins Joachims march-This, I'm assuming, is "The Prince of Denmark's March"
Han kommer med sommer
Le regiment de Sambre et Meuse
I skovens dybe stille ro
Schackenborg march
Le Pere La Victoire
Can't help falling in love
Kong Frederik d. 9 honnørmarch
Souvenirs de France
H.K.H. Dr. M d. 2 parademarch

Taffelmusik (Ved Prinsens Musikkorps):
Prins Joachims march
La Belle Helene, overture
Hanedans (af op. Maskerade)
Le regiment de Sambre et meuse
Gymnopedie no 1
Festpolonaise
Le Cygne
Bouquet Royale
Coppelia, mazurka
Schackenborg march

Musik til dansen (Med solist Jesper Lundgaard):
Ain't no mountain
Copacabana
Love is in the air
I've got you under my skin
Volare
Can't take my eyes off you
For once in my life
My way
New York, New York
Fly me to the moon
She
O sole mio
Just the way you are

Musik til dansen (Orkester):
Brudevals
3 x Leo Mathisen
2 lys på et bord
Dansevise
Quickstep-medley
Fransk quickstep-medley
Sing, sing, sing
Greased lightnin'-This seemed a bit...trashy to me at first, but then I thought, "Right. They don't know what half that crap means. And even if they did, there wouldn't be any words!" So, it evens out.
Tea for two
Angelique
