Tuesday movie night:
The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall will attend the Royal Film Performance 2015, John Madden's film, The Second Best Exotic Marigold Hotel, at the Odeon Leicester Square, London.
Wednesday is, well, a bit of a poop out:
President, Water Aid, will visit Lee Valley Tunnel and Abbey Mills Pumping Station to mark the 150th anniversary of London's sewer network, Abbey Lane, Stratford, London.
Has great potential for humorous headlines.

The article is supposed to be about Kate but IMO it's more about charles.. then again more about BP and official royal residences.. idk this could go in many places on the thread.. According to a senior courtier, Prince Charles plans to relocate the Royal Family to Windsor Castle in an all out campaign to modernize the monarchy.
“One of the ideas that Charles has discussed is for the Royal Family to leave Buckingham Palace entirely, turning it into a kind of grand official centre for events, an art gallery and public use.” But IMO, the question at the end raises good discussion "Would turning Buckingham Palace into a tourist attraction be a mistake which implies that Prince Charles, Prince William, and Kate Middleton are also redundant figures of a bygone age?" This story first came out a few years ago, where Charles was talking about it being a public and government centre for visiting diplomats and conferences etc. http://www.dailymail.co.u...m-Palace-turn-museum.htmlI don't think he has much affection for it and unlike his siblings hasn't lived their for some time (I'm not sure if he left when he married or before whereas they all still keep their London apartments there) Neither William or Harry have ever lived their so I guess they have even less connection to the place. Its not historically an important place for the monarchy. Officially St James' Palace is the royal seat and HQ not BP. They could keep using BP as a centrepiece for the big royal occasions with balcony appearances, garden parties and investitures etc, while he can stay at Clarence House (which is part of the SJP complex and somewhere he's invested quite a lot of effort and money into jazzing up) and Windsor. I'd agree that they are Palace heavy in London having BP, SJP/CH and KP all in use. KP might stay with an ever reducing presence as the old guard disappear, so in the grand shake up, it might be that KP will go eventually Taking out BP also removes quite a chunk of real estate from the royal accounts, so it would be up to the government to maintain it under this plan and not taken from the sovereign grant. |

It would make sense to me using Buckingham Palace as working place. The renovation of Clarence House and Willnot and Cannots appartment at Kensington Palace costs a fortune. So why not stay where they are.

Who knows, cordtx! It could be journalists making things up, it could be bits of gossip collected from friends of staff, it might be Camilla's friends venting on her behalf because Charles is so gloomy about william and George. I can't see the Queen saying anything that could get back to the Press. In my opinion it's likely to come from someone near to the royals who doesn't like the Middletons or their influence. |
