I don't actually mind copying. Some women simply don't have this inane fashion sense or style. Esp. if you come from a backgrund of professional office clothes mixed with simple casual and some fancy party stuff thrown in, this elegant conservative wardrobe can be difficult to pull off, without looking like you either dipped into your mother-in-laws closet or lost yourself. Taking clues from other women in a similar position IMO is a clever thing to do. What however strikes me is the extent to which they copy.
Often when we (normal unwashed peasants) start a new job, we take clues from the other employees as to what the dress code at the new workplace is, (well at least that is what I do) and when the dress code calls for moderated suits, cardies and blouses and such, you somewhat go along. Alas I would never dream of wearing the exact same outfit my coworker sported yesterday, even if I absolutely loved it.
