That doesn't make sense as the timing was reportedly after The Queen returned from laying her wreath - towards the end of the service.

There are images of them all at the church so surely Kate could have curtseyed as The Queen left - as the Queen leaves first as well as enters last - so this wasn't the first time that day that Kate saw The Queen.

Maybe she just felt, given what was happening, that is was the right thing to do.

I might add that there are many occasions when we see people curtseying to the Queen twice - at beginning and end - of a function - e.g. when she enters a formal church service and her family are waiting for her to arrive they curtsey or bow when she reaches them and again when she leaves.

You are right and there is also the "goodbye" bow/curtsy when they are not seeing her again that day. It would also fit with HM and the Midds not being BFFs. There is no invitation to Sandringham and if Will and Kate are leaving directly to go back to Anmer they have to show their respects to HM and Philip in public.

Id say it was to bring attention to herself i mean come how fast did the story come out

yes, to bring attention to herself and maybe to her family (make sure lot of pics came out)

I would also  say it could be a possible "sorry" for horning in on the Queen's event with the Midd family, but we know bobble heads don't have any brains  Crazy

Sophie Wessex looks lovely and so fun.  I'd like to spend an afternoon at Wimbledon with her too!  Kate looks the happiest I've seen her in ages - don't know if it's the tennis, Sohie's jolly company, or knowing her control freak refusenik bore of a husband was miles away strolling about looking cross in a velvet cape!

Laughing She always looks happiest when she's not in his company! I think Sophie looks great fun too.  Grin

May I say that in the picture with Sophie both ladies look about the same age?

My thoughts too! Waity always looks "happy" when she puts on her gurning show at sporting events. And I don't think that Sophie and her get along particularly well, it is noted that the Cambs don't socialise with any of the RF, and it is most evident when the Camb kids interact with the RF: not at all. It is obvious the kids don't know who they are. Also Sophie and Kate have to look as if they get along, it's all about image image image and Sophie would not upset the queen by misbehaving.

I think sophie tolerates kate because she's part of the family but i dont think there is any great friendship between the two. Kate allienates herself too much from the RF for her to ever truly be friends with any of them.

Kate is happy - grinning and giggling happy - when she gets what she wants- period. Any other time that she has to do ACTUAL WORK (shock and horror for our precious snowflake) she shows up grumpy or high on something! I'm not sure that she realized that there is actual work that SHE not her staff of flunkies, need to do. Any I'm sorry but flashing your body parts, twirling and sniffing your hair, making weird faces, and panting over Sir Ben A does not count as actual work!! If she ever did really take those "princess lessons" her instructor should be sacked. Kate's behavior is an absolute embarrassment to her country. Both she and Step of Luxembourg are in the same boat in my opinion:  either grow up, get professional help for their issues, get rid of all the Yes- men and employ people who tell the honest, blunt truth, and get away from Mama Middleton. Once she starts to work on this, maybe then she'll realize what a shallow, unhappy person she really is.

Thanks. I just call it as I see it with these two. It is not going to end well with them. Maybe we should take up bets to see when the divorce announcement will be? Just a thought.

That's because Sophie stopped doing at 45 and that is where Kate started aging on Sophie's behalf.

Yes, I noticed Maggie there.  I wonder if Kate did?  She's supposed to be a big Downton Abbey fan.

I wouldn't hold my breath.  Remember the actor she didn't recognize because he did or didn't have the beard his character did at the time?  I sometime wonder what the world looks like through her eyes.
