I think Philip had enough with the Lamebridges antics and didn't bothered to go to London. If they want to introduce Charlotte, go Sandringham as it was supposed and meet him there. He was photographed yesterday driving around the estate, so he's not sick.

I am confused Confused I thought they were headed to Amner, and the queen would have been Charlotte there  Thinking Did Lilibet and Philip decide to head back to London sooner then expected, before Kate and Will were at Amner  Huh?

It was reported that they were to go to AH on Monday and that the Queen and Philip would leave Sandringham on Tuesday.

The Queen and Philip stuck to that schedule.

William and Kate didn't however.

I'm confused as to why Liz and Phil didn't head back to London together. If they had left together then they could have both visited. Wonder if Phil was annoyed by the change in WK plans, especially since last time George was born in July yet wasn't introduced to Philip until September.
You'd think a young couple with a new baby and unlimited resources would make the effort to introduce a sick elderly man to his great-grandson.

One correction: a family of any resources would. I have pictures of myself in all of my surviving great grandparents arms taken during the first week of my life. The two great grandmothers lived 2 hours apart and my parents had actually taken the trouble to bring me to them and not the other way around

Not necessarily. Two of my great grandmothers were alive when I was born. I never met the other one (she died when I was three) and the other one I only met later (I got to know her for the first decade of my life). They both lived far away, the one I never met lived even further than the one who later lived to be close to a hundred years old. It's not that my dad wouldn't have been close with his grandmas, I guess my parents just didn't want to expose me to a long trip very early as I was born prematurely. I don't know the exact reasons. There's no pictures of me in their arms but I don't feel bad. As much as (very) old people love babies, they can also find meeting them for long periods of time tiresome. It just might be Philip doesn't care that much. Maybe he thinks he'll meet her when she's older perhaps. If not, whatever. She's there and that's it.

Having a pre-mature baby would be a totally different situation. I'm coming from a region where extended family's are a huge deal, the elderly grandparent who was never afforded the opportunity to meet the great grand child would be hugely insulted & the sooner the meeting, the better. I've seen some comments that have been insinuating that Liz & Phil are "only great grandparents" and therefore less important somehow. I don't know how that works. That makes them more so, where I come from.

Spaniel hair down, in high heels, and baby cradled awkwardly, in one arm. Hair up and baby nurse left to deal with the tot in the backseat. Priorities.

They released a photo of PGTips after his birth didn't they by Pa Midds?  They will definitely release a group shot of Charlotte and most likely one of George and Charlotte.

If she would be in the back seat with her kids, the world wouldn't see her, don't you know?

There will be an "official" first photo in a few days or so. They released one when George was, IIRC, one week old. Then she'll disappear - until Mummy & Daddy can't get by with random comments about her as they are passing by the press and need some PR points.

I saw something there the other day on DM about how Whiny & Harry "and now her granddaughter" (or however it was phrased) will keep Diana's legacy alive. No mention of George. Dead

I would imagine that (and I'm not making excuses for them; I'm speaking generally) a newborn can make schedule-keeping rather difficult.

Oh yeah thats what i meant by the (blurry) photo. Like they did with George. I think her dad took it? After that we wont see her and all we will hear is how loud she is and how she is running from bath time.

It might be a better photo this time, as they'll use a professional photographer - unless Kate's "nightmare" hair decides to take a little longer to run a brush through it again... or that screaming, unruly George finally decides to runaway... or genius George creates a potion that turns him into a shark for 24 hours and delays the session; after the news breaks, no other available photographer wants to be around this scary baby genius... (I'm just trying to imagine the excuses they'll come up with this time! Tongue)

ANYWAY, speaking of George's first photo... how they got away with Mike taking (and therefore making money off of) George's first photo I'll never understand. Snare And no way do I believe the Boleyn 2.0s didn't make a mint off of it. Snare Thumb down

Scanning through some previous fotos of the WorkNots in their RR with child & nanny the windows were not obscured and blacked out as they in these fotos. Something new? The sunscreen film for the back seat? The fotoscreen film for the back seat?
