Tweed is a rough, woollen fabric, of a soft, open, flexible texture, resembling cheviot or homespun, but more closely woven. It is usually woven with a plain weave, twill or herringbone structure. Colour effects in the yarn may be obtained by mixing dyed wool before it is spun

Why Sweden would rather look at Sofia’s ugly face and demeanor vs Madeline’s - I have no idea

I love the tweedy materials that show up at British racing events.  Gorgeous!

For me, at least, many of these garments would not technically qualify as made from  tweed fabric per se. I think a number of them are what I would call boucle wool -- most notably the all-white outfits. Others are, to my eyes, multicolor fabric woven in a variety of patterns, but not technically tweeds.

Of course, perhaps the definition varies from country to country. All I know is that if I were specifically shopping for a tweed garment or textile, many of these that are pictures would not come to mind for me. Your mileage may vary, of course.

That said, oh for some of those gorgeous Harris Tweeds from the Outer Hebrides! I had a Harris Tweed jumper -- not a sweater but a sleeveless dress worn over a blouse or sweater -- when I was in college and I loved it to its last tattered thread.
