They were  Yes Vikan wore them most recently to the state dinner for India. But she wore them to Maddie's wedding as well. Yes

They were once part of a stomacher (pendant) of Queen Josephine. The pendant was made into a necklace, the one Vikan wore to Maddie's, and two drops were turned into the earrings.  Champagne

Off topic, but is this the tiara that is now used by Sonja of Norway, without the drop pearls on top? Or what happened to this tiara, I don't recognize it from the Bernadotte collection.

As far as I can see this tiara is the leuchtenberg tiara and the Norwegian tiara also belonged to Queen Josephine.

Thank you Ginger!  Star I had no idea that the Leuchtenberg saphires could be changed for pearls... what a shame that they are gone, the Swedish RF don't have a pearl tiara.

What did I miss here?  Huh? Thinking I take it that such photos are now removed. I don't think they would be relevant considering the topic here. I think we're mainly talking about jewellery Snakey received while dating CP and now that they're married.  Dead Dead Dead Gosh, the though of that still sickens me...

The Royal Order of Splendor is dishing about Sofia's tiara:

http://orderofsplendor.blogspot.com/

All they got on the tiara is that's it's designed in the Art Deco style and it's a gift from CG & Silvia.  They're not sure if it's an estate piece or brand new; and that gives me pause.  Art Deco style can be replicated, from the cheapest costume jewelry line to a skilled jeweler.  Since Art Deco got its start in the 1920's it can give a piece of jewelry a sense of history.

Here's an art deco inspired tiara that's fake:

Yes it's looks beauty pageant.

Even if the tiara has real stones Sofia was short changed because her tiara doesn't break into multiple pieces.  Here's Sofia's tiara:

Here's Stephanie of Luxemburg's tiara, a wedding gift from her parents:

Here's an Art Deco tiara:

And I bet if Sofia knew she was getting an emerald and diamond tiara as a wedding gift, she would have opted for these:

Dollar bet Sofia has her wedding tiara appraised.

Wrong princess for the Luxembourg tiara, it's Princess Sybilla.

Here's Stephanie of Luxemburg's tiara, a wedding gift from her parents:

Small correction, while the tiara does belong to the wife of Prince Guillliame of Luxembourg and is thought to have been a gift from her parents, its not Stephanie  No

The tiara belongs to Princess Sibilla of Luxembourg, the wife of Henri's younger brother Guilliame. Sibilla is a member of the very wealth Javal family through her father.  Yes

Stephanie wore a family tiara on her wedding, one worn by her sisters and sister in law at their weddings

But I have no doubt that Sofia will want her tiara appraised  Crap And it seems a stretch to me to call it art deco style

I really like palmette designs but I don't understand the emeralds with a purple/orange scheme.

The cynic in me wonders if the orange / purple theme was chosen by Sofia months ago to open the way up to be lent the Cameo or Amethyst tiaras.  Both would work with those colour flowers. But then the family threw in a curve ball by gifting her a diamond and emerald tiara.  She will now find it harder to borrow other jewels so none of the heirlooms become associated with Sofia.

She will wear it for a few events, but then will dig into the family vault

Look at this photo:

It looks like the emeralds have a double setting. Why would that be unless the emeralds with their backing (and possibly a longer prong behind the "christmas tree" design) were removable leaving a similarly shaped setting on top of the "Christmas tree" to wait for another teardrop shaped stone to be snapped into the setting? Hard to explain but why would they do a double backed setting for those stones if they weren't removable? It's not like the double bottom can be seen very easily so it cannot be because of looks. Why would the stones need to be reinforced if the designs under them do not? Also, the emeralds are not in line with the rest of the tiara, they're actually further onward than the rest of the tiara like they were added later.
