I wonder if Nicolas is a tribute to Victoria, with Nicolas being a variant of Nike? If so, it's a lovely gesture.  Thumb up

Nicolas is a name of the Bernadotte Family! It was the second name of Prince Eugen  Smiley

No Carl among his names, probably because Victoria (or CP... Dead) baby boy would have it.

So he'll be a name sake to the princes of Denmark, Greece, Yugoslavia, Romania, Montenegro and Belgium (the one in Belgium with the same spelling).

Nice names! I suppose if he had been born into a Swedish family he would have been a Niklas.

Wow so there are more with the name in the SRF.

Would the name Nicolaus in Lennarts case coming from his mothers side of the family (Grandduchess Maria Pavlovana of Russia)?

If he was, that┤s a fantastic tribute and role model (AFAIK).
Lennart is one of the Swedish princes who lost their titles because they married "commoners", and not so few people are still upset about it, especially if we compare to who recently got married and got a title.

I love the name....imo it's the perfect blend between 'royal' and just classic....don't know how to word this but it's a great name....thank you for coming to Sweden's rescue tiny Prins Nicolas Paul Gustaf....just a few days old and already you've brought joy and happiness to people who will never meet you....good start little one....

I just absolutely love the name Paul....had I had a 3rd son his middle name would have been Paul.... Yes
