Dear Maria and co,

I would like to change my profile picture. I have tried to change by browsing a picture and by 'upload my own picture'. In all cases it seems to work until I hit enter or click on save changes. Then I am back at my original screen, before I did alterations. Can you help me?

I have found that it sometimes works better to first set your profile image to nothing, then save. And then upload the new image, and then save.

But good that it worked for you in the end  Smiley

Hi,

I changed my avatar earlier ad can only see the old picture. Is it the same for everyone? I've tried the tricks of logging off and closing windows.

Every time I try to change my avatar it says it is too big for the server to load but the image is the same size as my previous avatar and it's only saved as a jpeg so it's a smaller file.  I am confused.

Edit: Now I have no avatar...

Nothing works. I've tried resizing the picture, trying different picture file formats, using an url instead of an uploaded photo, changing to no avatar and clearing the cache. Still either nothing happens or I get this message in a nano second when I try to click 'change':

"Your attachment couldn't be saved. This might happen because it took too long to upload or the file is bigger than the server will allow.

Please consult your server administrator for more information."

 Thinking

Ironically the "file is bigger than server will allow" message comes up only when I upload the smallest image versions.

Edit: It works when it wants to, apparently...

I understand there are some technical difficulties at the moment and don't want to burden the admins with this but just wanted to report here that there are some problems with changing the avatar. Tried to change mine and now cannot get one at all. No worries though! When and if there's time for that at some point.

Ok I hate to be the one posting here all the time, my apologies but did someone change something just now...? I was trying to change my avatar (which size should it be max right now?) when it changed back to the previous avatar I had even though I didn't choose that one. Seems it's locked to this Snarkle image for now...  I can't get either url or upload to work but I'm just going to give up for now since there's at least a pic now.

It's a old thread but it is topical…
No matter what I do, I can't change the pic. At best I can remove it.
Can anyone help?…

I'm going crazy.  So I'm trying to change my profile picture and did all the usual tricks...removed picture, saved, logged out, restarted computer, selected new picture, saved, logged out, restarted computer, and logged in.  Even gave it a day without a picture.  I kid you not on my computer my profile settings shows the old picture and on my phone the new picture....I don't know how or why.  Advice please...
