Even nowadays, when royalty and nobility marries commoners, they still seem to move in small circles. One way or another often related by ancestry, marriage or blood.

Recently at the site of Marlene Koenig I discovered a new 'small world' connection:

Lady Charlotte Wellesley (24) to marry Alejandro Santo Domingo (38).
Alejandro's half-brother, the late Julio Mario, Jr., who died in 2009, was the father of Tatiana Santo Domingo, who is married to Andrea Casiraghi.

Charlotte is a descendant of Queen Victoria through her mother, HRH Princess Antonia of Prussia.  Antonia, who doesn't uses her royal title anymore,  is a great-granddaughter of Wilhelm II, German Emperor and the wife of the current Duke of Wellington.

Michel, 14th Prince of Ligne (1951) married Princess Eleanora of Orléans-Braganza (1953), daughter of Prince Pedro Henrique of Orléans-Braganza and Princess Maria Elisabeth of Bavaria, on 10 March 1981 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

Michel is the son of Antoine, 13th Prince of Ligne and Princess Alix Marie of Luxembourg. He is thus the nephew of Jean, Grand Duke of Luxembourg and a cousin of the current Grand Duke.

Eleanora's older brother Prince Antônio of Orléans-Braganza (1950) is married to Michel's sister Princess Christine de Ligne (1955)

Micheal and Eleanora have two kids:
1. Princess Alix Marie Isabelle Adelgonde Eléonore de Ligne b. 3 July 1988

2. Prince Henri Antoine de Ligne b. 3 March 1992

Antoine and Christine have four kids:
1. Prince Pedro Luiz (January 12, 1983, Rio de Janeiro – June 1, 2009, he was a passenger on the missing Air France Flight 447)

2. Princess Amélia (born March 15, 1984, Brussels). On 16 August 2014, she married James Spearman, who is from Scotland and is descended from the Spearman Baronets.

3. Prince Rafael (born April 24, 1986, Rio de Janeiro).

4. Princess Maria Gabriela (born June 8, 1989, Rio de Janeiro).

In my opinion the girls really look like each other.

From left to right: Prince Michel de Ligne, Prince D.Rafael de Orléans e Bragança Brazil, Princess D.Maria Gabriele de Orléans e Bragança, prince D.Henri Antoine de Ligne

Michel's and Christine's younger brother Prince Antoine de Ligne (1959) married a member of the extended Lannoy family (lower branch): Countess Minthia de Lannoy (?). Both were present at the wedding of Hereditary Grandduke Guillaume of Luxembourg and Countess Stephanie de Lannoy.

Antoine is a cousin of the current Grandduke, while Minthia is (distant) related to Stephanie.

The house of Limburg Stirum (sometimes referred to as Limburg-Styrum), which adopted its name in the 12th century from the sovereign county of Limburg an der Lenne in what is now Germany, is one of the oldest families in Europe.

Today's members are mostly found in Belgium and The Netherlands.

Count Rudolphe de Limburg Stirum (1979) is of Belgian nobility. In 2008 he married Archduchess Marie Christine of Austria (1983), who is the oldest daughter of Archduke Carl Christian & Archduchess Marie Astrid (née Princess of Luxembourg). Archduchess Marie-Christine of Austria is a niece of Henri, Grand Duke of Luxembourg. She is the great-granddaughter of King Leopold III of Belgium through her mother, Archduchess Marie Astrid of Austria and of Emperor Charles I of Austria through her father. Rudolphe and Marie Christine have two sons: Léopold (2011) and Constantin (2013).

Rudolphe's brother, count Philippe (1985) married countess Caroline of Neipperg (1986) in 2015. Neipperg is a high noble family in Germany

Count Evrard de Limburg Stirum (1927–2001), married Princess Hélène d'Orléans (1934-), a daughter of Henri d'Orléans, Comte de Paris, the Orléanist claimant to the throne of France.

Count Alexis de Limburg Stirum married Béatrix de Blacas d'Aulps, daughter of the 7th Duke and Prince of Blacas d'Aulps.

Count Bruno (1966), son of Evrard and Hélène and first cousin of Rudolphe, married countess Christine de Lannoy. Christine is a cousin of HGD Stephanie of Luxembourg (née countess Stephanie de Lannoy).
