OK, so who in your opinion are the best grandparents among the present crop of royals?  My money's on Harald and Sonja, but I think that Oma Trixie is right up there as well.  On the other hand, then there's Grump GC and I kind of doubt JC would win any grandfather-of-the-year award as well. Charles looks like he's really enjoying the Wales kids, which actually surprised me. I didn't think he'd be good with kids or comfortable around the chaos they seem to generate.

I'm confused.
This could be Mary Adelaide of Cambridge. Queen Emma only ever had one grandchild.

However as she died in 1897 this can't be her grandchildren either - (her oldest grandson Edward of Wales was born in 1894).

You are correct - the photo is Princess Mary Adelaide with her children, Princess May of Teck (Queen Mary) and her sons, Francis on the right and Adolphus in the center.  Probably taken in the mid-1870's.
