I've long been looking for a more scholarly look at Charlotte and her life, her prolific writing, so thanks for sharing it! It is $30 but worth it I think.

You're welcome. I think it is worth it. It will last longer than a bottle of wine and give you longer lasting pleasure. Smiley

There is another scholarly work about her, by the way..... A free one, too, since it was published in 1912 and is now in the public domain:

After a year of Princess Charlotte's steadfast determination to have "the Leo" (Prince Leopold) as her husband, the Prince Regent gave in.

King George III expressed a desire to have Princess Charlotte live with him so that he could supervise her upbringing and education.

Understandable. He didn't have good relationships with his son and distrusted them. Also Charlotte was for a long time his only legitimate grandchild.

However she was born in 1796 so it can't have been this long until George's senses began to fade.
