Her dress is nice on the upper part, but I'm not a fan of the skirt in it

The dress is by Mattijs van Bergen:

Regarding that massive bling, Queen Juliana wore it before

Isn't it a Van Gogh painting which inspired the patron on that dress?

Because of the illness of Maxima, WA will be alone at the State Visit events this day

The activities of Willem-Alexander this morning includes a walk through the traditional neighborhood Dashilar and a visit to the Bank of Beijing, where all morning a round table meeting was held from the top of the Dutch and Chinese business.

W-A is in the Hutongs! Love this part of Beijing, it is gorgeous and so vibrant.

I like the idea of the gown with the dutch paiting on it. I think the bling was chosen perfectly to fit with the gowns colors ... BUT
the neckline of the gown doesn't work well with the necklace, the pendant part should be on bare skin.
And I'd think that Pru would have plenty to complain about the bust seaming ... looks badly made there.

I like the top part of the dress but not quite likings the bottom part. Don't really like the hat she wore either. I believe I see her in that hat before or I might be wrong.

I like the painting on the dress, but the sewing is awful. There are so many puckers along the princess lines that it looks like something sewn by a first year fashion student. I'm sure Maxima paid a hefty price for the dress. The sloppy sewing is inexcusable

Maxima is because of her illness excluded from the day activities Monday and Tuesday. I was surprised she even showed up at the banquet Monday night.
I have experienced someone who had a double renal pelvis inflammation. She had a lot of pain and spend some days in the local hospital.

Thistle, thanks for the great photos of the dress and necklace Star The necklace is...impressive, but a bit much for my taste. Love the style and pattern on the dress top. The idea for the bottom is cool, but it just doesn't work for me.

Doctors advised her to return home and do more exams. As soon as she arrives, she will be taken to Bronovo Hospital in The Hague to be admitted for further exams and treatment. She must be quite ill indeed Crap
