In just nine days: Mary planning to travel to the terror-stricken country.

Princess Mary should be in just nine days on a trip to Burkina Faso, when news hit that on Friday night it was hit by a terrorist attack.

Four or five armed men stormed the Splendid Hotel in Burkina Faso's capital Ouagadougou Friday night. Several hostages were taken at the hotel, which is known to house foreign journalists, politicians and diplomats.

The attack may have implications for Crown Princess Mary, who in a few days would travel on a official visit to the impoverished African country. On the Crown Princess calendar on the royal family's website, it appears that from 24-26th Jan she shall visit Burkina Faso with Foreign Minister Kristian Jensen.

During the visit, Mary would look at women's health and rights and the country's democratic development.

"The Crown Princess, together with Foreign Minister visit the health facilities in the capital and in the countryside and visit the locals. There will also be visits to a clinic, where there will be the opportunity to talk to young burkinab? on their access to information, contraception and health services",writes the Royal Family on the website.

Where the Crown Princess and Foreign Minister Kristian Jensen would be staying, is not clear. Right now it is unclear whether the terrorist attack will have consequences for the visit, but the security situation has apparently changed in the country which, unlike neighboring Mali are not accustomed to terror.

With that chicken mouth face included?

With her 'wit, intelligence and beauty' (being sarcastic here) I am surprised she's not in Davos!  Perhaps she is finally realizing that she is out of her depth. I know, wishful thinking on my part.  I just think there was no forum on shopping for her to talk about.

Yup, and they keep on going

Mary Foundation supports young women's right advocates participating at the conference Women Deliver, with 250,000 kr.

Mary Foundation special donation has made it possible for 13 young women and men from different parts of the world to attend the Women Delivers Global Conference on girls and women's health, rights and well-being, to be held in Copenhagen in May 2016th.

The recipients of the scholarships - 11 women and two men - come from Malawi, Egypt, Kenya, Cuba, Ghana, Uganda, Malaysia, Benin, Zimbabwe and Sri Lanka. They are all involved in working for women's health and rights in their home country and most of which also acted as advisers in international contexts. Sexual and reproductive health, violence against women and children and the right to education and work are issues that recipients have worked to influence.

In connection with the Mary Foundation special donation says Crown Princess:

- "The recipients of the Mary Foundation's annual donation are all young people who are dedicated in terms of creating a better future for women and girls in their home country. The youth vote is important, they are the next generation leaders and agents of change. Women Delivers Copenhagen conference is a unique opportunity for beneficiaries to contribute their knowledge and to strengthen their networks, new knowledge and inspiration for their future work, and I look forward to meeting them."

HRH The Crown Princess is patron of the Women Deliver and will speak at the opening and participate in the conference.

Crown Princess Mary's day look in 2015
Crown Princess Mary has a wardrobe full of style colorful outfits that she uses on royal duties. We have created a gallery where we look at the Crown Princess everyday look in 2015.

Crown Princess Mary's royal wardrobe is not only filled with glamorous prom dress, but also with modern style and colorful outfits that she uses on official duties and private events. Denmark's 43-year-old Crown Princess is known for its good style and she has been repeatedly highlighted as an example of how to dress feminine and elegant.

In 2015 Princess Mary attended a wide variety of events, and here she wore, among other clothes from Ole Yde, Signe B?gelund Jensen, Prada and Mary Katrantzou.

We have collected 14 photos of Crown Princess Mary's day look at the year that year.

Yrma behind the scenes

Roll Eyes Roll Eyes Roll Eyes Roll Eyes Roll Eyes

Before Crown Princess Mary goes on an official event it would be a shame not to mention pre-information about it. Because Princess Mary is obviously not a royal who just show up and give a speech. The main theme of the event is the Mary Foundation's own work.

Right now, for example, Crown Princess Mary visits Danish Red Cross in Slagelse where she is participating in the Mary Foundation's and the Danish Red Cross' network groups "V?rket" for adults with prolonged loneliness.

Behind "V?rket" stands the Mary Foundation and the Danish Red Cross who has developed an offer that allows lonely adults the opportunity to meet in network groups. More than 100,000 Danes aged 30-60 years struggling with serious loneliness, but the help services for this group has been very little and sparse. That was the rationale idea for that the Mary Foundation in 2015 established "V?rket" - network for adults, a help and a offer for adults who experience prolonged loneliness.

In 2015, "V?rket - networking groups for adults" has been tested in seven Red Cross local branches. The good results will now be disseminated to an additional 10 local branches and today HRH Crown Princess Mary visits a local branch in Slagelse to experience and see the work of the groups with her own eyes. In addition to meeting the participants and working volunteers, she will also have the opportunity to participate in two exercises that are part of the network groups.

Their titles are almost the same and their fashion sense identical... but just who is the lesser-known Princess Marie of Denmark and is she locked in a right royal rivalry with our Mary?

Princess Marie, 39, is the second wife of Prince Joachim of Denmark
Together they have two children: Prince Henrik and Princess Athena
Her style is similar to that of Australian-born Princess Mary of Denmark, 43
The duo has stepped out in near identical dresses, coats and trousers
The pieces are similar in colour, cut and style
