I think it looks odd. like they are both responding to something she said or did, or something in that general directions, independent of each other.  I don't see enough photos of either to read them well and Max has a very animated face.

I could just be projecting but there is something off about the pictures on the boat. The Norwegian couple seem to be hanging out with their Norwegian buddies who are going to likely be regular people no fancy airs. Then there is Wax and Max and I'm sure they are skilled at talking to all kinds of folks but they seem protective at the same time of their royal status and don't seem like people who would necessarily enjoy just hanging with regular folk. I might be accusing the Dutch couple of being snobs but this doesn't look like their crowd. I am not even convinced that they would be friends with Haakon and MM if they weren't all royal. Does that make sense I like Wax and Max but this is a difference in the two couples that seems accentuated in these pics.

When I see royals socializing outside of a wedding, funeral, baby christening on a private trip, I think it's for real.  How often do we see any of the British royal family with any of the other Euro royals?

Charles is close to the Greeks. King Harald and Queen Sonja stay at Sandringham, and Beatrix and Mabel stayed at Windsor sometimes when Mabel's husband was ill in a London hospital. A poster on another forum who had family links to the Netherlands lived nearby and used to see them driving in and out on some days. It's also said that Sofia of Spain and Queen Daisy come to England quite often and stay with the Queen. It's just that Windsor Castle and  Sandringham estate are so huge and private you'd be lucky to spot anyone.

Boots for picking garbage, and now white sneakers with a formal (and frumpy) outfit?

Oh, well, it's MM after all.

The sneakers make her look like a crazy homeless woman who has just wandered up to Haakon who is dressed for business.  She is nuts!

Still, why don't carry sensible shoes all the time? A pair of black ballet flats goes with everything and look dressy enough. Perhaps the sneakers was an emergency alternative because looks new.
