I like the coat but the belt doesn't look as though it's sitting on her natural waistline.

New Catherine Walker for Kate Whistle

She looks great! I think I love the look because it reminds me of clothes she would wear from 2011-2012 where in my opinion she looked her best!

Totally.  Her new stuff is at least very flattering,  timeless,  and perfectly tailored.  I'd rather this than her prairie phase stuff
Her new stuff is a hit or miss. Her loser stuff looking back was mostly a hit! But today she looked well tailored and elegant! She actually looks like a PRINCESS for one in a long time!

Her posture drives me batty.

Stupid question, is that a coat dress or just a really thick dress? Where's the closure?

I would say it's more of a wool dress than a coat. Theres a hidden zipper down the back.

Thank you! Then I'd call it a dress, too. Coat dresses can be worn indoors but some coat type closure seems useful

Other than the color and length I don't see many similarities. The collar is different as is the way it's buttoned up.

I like the new one better.

Duchess of Suffolk, we thought alike ... hadn't seen your post when I just posted mine in the other thread, but you are absolutely right,
total waste of money to buy just another one.

Obviously we have to accept that some of those coats were meant for other seasons.
But in all fairness (and considering that if ever there was a good reason for a new outfit it would be an event with the Queen) the collage above shows several fabulous and not yet recycled coats she could have chosen and not look any different from today.

Not a big fan of any of these gray coats/coatdresses/dresses.  The shape just seems overdone and not very sophisticated.  But mostly looking at her makes my back hurt - her posture is terrible for someone so young.

Iím convinced she borrows a lot of clothing like these seen once and never again coats from designers or department stores. I know she canít receive gifts, but can she borrow? Or pay a fee a la Rent the Runway?

They donít. They cannot endorse in a lucrative way, borrowing would mean a financial advantage.
