This house just went on the market for one million. The pictures of it aren't great but you still get the idea. John Kelly built it in 1935 when Grace was 6 years old. He definitely wanted to be seen as up and coming because this is in a major 18th century style. I drove by when we first moved to the area and I have to say I would't want to live on the corner of a busy street. But the house looks nice enough and it's across from a park. I wonder if Grace's children would like to buy it and create a museum?

There don't seem to be any current photos of the interior, which usually means the place is a wreck inside.

The current owner had a large quantity of pets and some were removed due to the stench. Personally, every floor probably must be replaced because no matter how much you clean, that scent will come back.

This was reported in the local newspapers about a year ago.

For what it's worth we were driving on Henry Avenue today to go to D'Alessandro's for cheesesteaks and passed the Kelly house. It had three flags flying over the door. The US in the middle and Ireland and Monaco on either side. When I got home I checked and the real estate sites say it is off the market but the Philadelphia property data for the city hasn't been updated. The cat lady is still listed as the owner. I wonder who bought it. It never had flag brackets over the door before. I wonder if the children bought it and will make it a museum or if some fan bought it.

If you go to Realtor.com, it states that the sale is pending.

I was wondering if the Prince Albert and/or his family bought it themselves as it wasn't selling. Perhaps make it a historical sight not only for Princess Grace but for her father as well.

Time will tell.

Please don't let Ms Jolie hear about this. Since if the rumours are true, she wants to be the next Grace too. I'd hate to see her make the place some sort of holiday house to be able to pose in front of it for People Magazine saying how much she adores Grace and her legacy or something.

It was posted in Philly.com that the family is purchasing the property and will extensively refurbish it.

Sorry if this is boring but we are local and it was all over the news tonight. While Charlene was in NY Albert came to Philly to check out the house with his cousin J. B. Kelly III. I assume environmental remediation had already been done before the house was put on the market because the cat lady was fined for having the place covered in animal poop. Looks like they want to make it offices of the foundation.

Daily Mail reported that Albert went to visit the Kelly home....that "he recently purchased"  Thumb up

I did not realize that Grace and Rainier got engaged at the home.       I'm glad the family bought it and look forward to what they will do with it.

It looks like a lovely colonial. Good news that Albert bought the property too - the sentimental side of me likes that he has that physical link to his mother's family.

Oh I'm so glad that this has happened rather than seeing it go down a hole or be flipped.

I didn't notice there had been updates. Very good to hear Albert bought it! Not sure if he will use the house himself but if security-wise that's possible, why not after it has been completely renovated.

Judging by Al's facial expression, the crazy cat lady's 14 cats have made the place stink big time.  Laugh bounce

I'm sure he'll have no trouble fixing the place up and finding furniture to replace what used to be there. But it might take a lot of work to get all that cat piss out of the building, they will have to tear down a lot of the structures.
