I know the Crown isn't fully accurate but I still really enjoy it. Looking forward to Season 5!

Is anybody really still interested? Perhaps thats just me, but I can't muster the same level of interest and excitement over the new season as I had over season one and two....

I gave up half-way through series 2 when I realised that it was a fictional story using the names of real people.

I'm doing a rewatch and I can't stand the fact the whole thing just starts bad, Princess Alice didn't attent the wedding in nun attire, and Queen Mary would have never referred, or accepted her daughter-in-law referring to HRH Princess Alice of Greece and Denmark that way, even if Alice came from a morganatic family like hers, she was very concious of the status, and royal marriages.

I accepted pretty soon the whole thing is Peter Morgan's fictional interpretation of real people's lives and take it as it is.

I comfort myself right now by re-watching the first season of the Crown. The death of George V and the accession of the vulnerable but very strong young queen are done quite tastefully. The world was so different then - it's unbelievable we are saying good bye to her only now. So many years on the throne.

I'm looking forward to season 6. They have picked great actors for all the roles - my only disappointment is Victoria Hamilton as Queen Mother. She's a wonderful actress and I love her in everything else but she doesn't have the drop of poison at the core of this fluffy marshmallow, imho. Oh and I don't think they did justice to Prince Philip but they needed this portrayal to balance the storyline. It's fiction after all, though based on historical events.
