Which actress did the best job as the Queen, in your opinion?

Seasons 1-2 were the best imo. Claire Foy was impeccable.

Absolutely agree, S1-2 were the best (I loved Matt Smith as well).

Although the young actor playing teenage Elizabeth in these last few eps was also very good, I don’t know where they found Claire Foy’s little sister!

The Crown. Season 6 is now streaming on Netflix.

I’ve just watched the last half. The very last scene of the last episode killed me.

Peter Morgan owes me a box of Kleenex.

I sobbed through the last 3 episodes, it was so well done. That final scene  Champagne just superb.

A way of taking us right through to the end without having to do it. The ghosts of Queens past. Really well done, I am glad i perservered.

I’m going to have to push through the rest of season 5 so I can finish this show! The ending sounds good.

I have to finish season 5 yet. I got very bored of it.

Seasons 1-2 are still the best, imo.

Really good. I haven't seen season 6 as I cancelled Netflix.  Is it worth watching?

Honestly I would say its the worst of the lot with just a few great scenes, especially those with Imelda Staunton and Lesley Manville when Princess Margaret is ill.
For me there was just far too many facts and events distorted it all felt like a cheesy 90s sitcom in many places.

I think the actor playing William was really good.

Really good. I haven't seen season 6 as I cancelled Netflix.  Is it worth watching?

I watched S5 and hated it, started ep one of S6 and stopped 25 mins in. Then I kept seeing clips online, so gave it another go while I was recuperating from surgery at the end of last year. I didn't like to focus on the Diana/Dodi storyline, and ended up fast forwarding through most of the scenes with Mohammed. The ep the with Paris crash felt like it was done in real time  Snore

So I wasn't eager to watch the second half, thinking it focussed solely on W&K. But my hairdresser encouraged me saying how lovely is was, and I flew through the last 6 eps. The last 3 were especially good.

I haven't watched since season 2 but I'm thinking I may watch the last half of this season given how much other posters seemed to enjoy it.

Season 3 & 4 were pretty good, imo! I especially liked the episode of Philip's childhood.

I am watching Season 5 right now. My husband (who has no interest at all of royals) gave me the newest dvds for my birthday. At least we have been watching it together since Season 1! His favourite are the first seasons with Claire Foy.
There is also a lot of interesting history in those first seasons.

I was a bit disappointed by Season 5, hat to get used to the new actors which were better in past seasons. But the episode where Diana and Charles finally decided to divorce got me into tears. What a tragedy.

As I don't have Netflix I usually wait until the dvds are published. It will take a while until I will see Season 6.

I forced myself to finish it (had left off somewhere in season 5- something about leaving things undone), and I’m glad I did. It was ok, but the last scene of the last episode…  Cry

As emtishell said, they took us through to the end without actually doing it.

If anyone has any interest, the creators of the crown are auctioning off the costumes, quite a few pieces of furniture and other props as well as a giant amount of royal books that they used for research https://www.liveauctionee...the-crown-auction-online/

I would bid on that lovely chiffon dress that Vanessa Kirby wore in Season 1.  I could only fit one leg in it though  Cute

What a find… The wardrobes of some of the characters would be fantastic to have! Too bad anything most of the actresses wore would need to be altered massively to fit my several-inches-shorter frame. Alas.
