I have to admit I'm absolutely crazy about Swedish crown jewels, all of them. Through the centuries they have accumulated a lot of seriously valuable and stunningly beautiful pieces. And all the bling is in the RF private possession AFAIK. Shocking wealth!
What I love the most about the Swedish, it's the importance they place on those heirlooms, they make sure that even if they are out there for someone's life time, they do comeback. Lilian gave her jewelry to Victoria. Pss Margaretha left her aquamarine's kokoshnik back in Sweden for her sisters and nieces to use. And, there is also and alleged rumor that King C-G bought back the white topaz's tiara from countess Estella Bernardotte's descendants upon Pss Estelle's birth.

Let's hope that is correct.

hang on. what pieces of jewellery actually got stolen please?

Not all these images of jewellery are stolen?

sorry. I am confused b Crazy Blush

G Confused

None of the jewels pictured in this thread got stolen. The jewels that were taken by thieves this past week were made in the 17th century for King Karl IX and his wife Kristina's respective funerals. They were on display at Strängnäs Cathedral and the thieves escaped by boat and remain at large.

The two crowns and the orb in the center of this photo are what was taken.

These stolen jewels may have been found !

Update: The police have confirmed that the jewels have indeed been found - and the thief has been sentenced to four years in jail.  Thumb up

They upload pictures of the crowns, one of them is really damaged but could be repaired, some goes to the orb, it looks damaged on a side.  Cry

They should get longer for crimes against history!

Yeah, this isn't your average robbery. These pieces can't be replaced or sometimes even restored. There should be a harsher penalty for it than 4 years, especially since parole will probably turn that into less than 2 years!

On her daughter Crown Princess Victoria's wedding day, June 19, 2010, Queen Sylvia wore the Braganca Tiara.
Royalty Magazine declared the Braganca Tiara was "the greatest in the Swedish Royal Family's collection of tiaras. This tiara once belonged to Empress Amalie of Brazil.
