Today in Milan, The Milan Furniture Fair (Salone Internazionale del Mobile di Milano) opens. It is a furniture fair held annually in Milan. It is the largest trade fair of its kind in the world. Bernadotte&Kylberg will be there with a new collection of patterns: Appaloosa and Marwari.

From their facebook:
"Today we are incredibly excited and proud to share our design collaboration with the acclaimed Swedish bed manufacturer, H?stens.
We constantly strive for innovation and how we can create a change through design. Through this and our passion to promote Swedish design in the world, we have developed two new patterns: Appaloosa and Marwari.
Appaloosa, with it?s playful and innovative graphic abstraction, is an interpretation of H?stens iconic blue and white check. Marwari, with it?s three dimensional and deep texture, is a tribute to H?stens origins as saddle makers.
The two new patterns are being shown for the first time today in Milan at Salone Del Mobile. We hope you share our excitement!

The blue *Mondrian* fabric - I do not know how original it is, but the brown one with squares look suspiciously like the Louis Vuitton pattern...

Both the fabric are not new. They came from the classical Hastens' iconic feature. The company asked B&K to reinterpret the classical pattern into a modern way. The first one, Appaloosa, works with the same colour of iconic pattern but changes the layout. The second one, Marwary, works with the same structure (the chessboard/square) but with different colour and texture. Actually you can see Hastens' original pattern in the last photo of my previous post in the tablecloth.

http://skonahem.com/sovru...r-hastens-klassiska-ruta/
"Hastens' released their classic and iconic blue pattern in 1978, and has since been the the company's absolute hallmark. Just in time for next year, when it is celebrating 40 years, the design duo Bernadotte & Kylberg was invited with a mandate to renew and modernize the box.
The result was two different variants of Hastens classic design, Appaloosa and Marwari.

Appaloosa
The horse Appaloosa is inspired by the Appaloosa horse with its colorful and irregular mottled fur, it has also taken inspiration from Cubism playful expression. The position is the same as in the classic company's pattern, which has shifted in a modern and exciting way.

Marwari
H?stens beds was founded in Koping in 1852 and was originally a saddlery.  Bernadotte & Kylberg kept this in mind when they designed the bed Marwari. According to the design duo's Marwari pattern is a graphic interpretation in the spirit of classic layout.
The name Marwari is inspired by the rare and majestic horse breed from the Marwar region of India.
Marwari has a rich brown color, with a matching headboard, leather details and a brass badge with signature.

The first fabric design comes from how CP sees the H?stens pattern when he stumbles home drunk 4 am in the morning. The second one probably stared at him in the face in his wife's wardrobe when he chose the wrong door on his way to the toilet.

He can't help it. As a super-talented design prince he just finds inspiration in everything surrounding him.

The thing about Bernadotte & Kylberg pieces - no matter if its dishes, wine glasses/aerators or beds; the design is always lukewarm and uninspiring.  True design and/or fashion spark something inside you and you want to own it, possess it even.  Nothing that CP or his man friend create ever spark anything; there's never an element of, "I have to have that" or anything remotely personal about their designs.  It's a disappointment - much like everything else CP does.

Some days ago CP was at Tullgarn Slott and Jagiska, a magazine about outdoor activities, fishing and hunting published a photo.
Yesterday, CP was not in Stockholm but was at Filipstad, Varmland, for a military unit exercise.

Seriously?!!!!!!!   Laugh bounce Laughing Laugh bounce Laughing Laugh bounce Laughing OMFG.

Okay, I want to know how anybody could interview these two morons about this "unique" design.  What the actual ^&*k?  There is NOTHING unique or interesting or original about these fabric designs.  Firstly, I'm pretty sure I have some yoga pants in that exact same pattern as the blue.  Secondly, I hope Louis Vuitton sues them into the stone age for ripping off their brown square design.

Why does anybody even give CP attention or credit?  He REPEATEDLY copies the innovative designs of others, yet he's constantly given media attention and praise for it.  Carl-Philip, you are a joke.  You are not talented.  You don't have a single creative idea in your greasy head.  You are going to end up getting sued by the people you've plagiarized.  And then the taxpayers will end up having to pay your court costs.  Find something that you can actually do and succeed at.  The car racing and the designing are failures.

As much as I dislike spineless CP, it's nothing compared to the intense dislike I have for Che Guevara, that murderous thug.

But can't deny there's some similarity in their style. And both love/loved Rolex watches.

I know, not the time or the place so back to CP. He is today attending the memorial ceremony for the victims of the terror attack.

I must be missing something here.  Do people not put sheets down anymore?  What's the point of a decorative mattress?

You mean a bedskirt? Excluding hotels and my mother, I've seen very few people these days use a bedskirt. Actually, I'm having a hard time finding a mattress topper (meaning the thin extra mattress about two inches thick you use on top of the actual mattress to actually fold the sheet around) anywhere. All I find is a mattress cover, the thin thing you attach from the corners with a rubber band to protect the mattress but no decent topper made of memory foam. Puzzling...  Huh?

I think she is talking about the actual sheets, the one that covers the top mattress because all the CP beds are just mattresses and comforter/ blankets without nothing in between  Thinking
