Christian VIII was the King of Denmark from 1839 to 1848. He was a patron of astronomy. His 1840 coronation was the last coronation of a Danish King.

I mention the last coronation because in 1849 Denmark was a constitutional monarchy.   
During the reign of Frederick VII, Frederick signed a constitution that established a Danish parliament and made Denmark a constitutional monarchy.   
There was no coronation where a crown was placed upon a sovereign's head.
