Does Sofia have a lady-in-waiting or the Swedish equivalent?

I am wondering because to me some of her....mistakes seem basic to me.  For example, she put her hair up for a daytime event and then did nothing with it for a formal event when wearing a gorgeous tiara.  Just seems backwards to me.

I don't think so. She seems to rely on her stylist and her Paradise Hotel hairdresser and here is the result.

I guess that she hasn't needed a lady in waiting yet since she hasn't really worked a lot since the wedding. But I am surprised that she doesn't have a mentor to guide her in her new role. Silvia had Queen Ingrid of Denmark and Alice Trolle-Wachtmeister (Mistress of the Robes), Victoria had Tarras-Wahlberg, head of the press department of the court and Madeleine had Lena Ramel who helped her when she studied at university.

I don't think that Sofia has anybody... except Barbro Ehnbom. Who doesn't really have any experience with royal protocol.

I think I read somewhere that Kirstine von Blixen-Finecke (the current Mistress of the Robes) is Sofia's mentor. If true, she's not doing a very good job.

Edit: here it is, she is helping Sofia with her education: http://www.kungahuset.se/...3e0b0f150a889bfed472.html

Shocked I have missed that. Sofia can't be a very good student judging from the results...

I glanced at this photo and for a second I thought they had dark blue dinner napkins tonight and she had tucked her napkin into the neckline of her dress.

I just can't with the tiara placement. Not only is it too far back on her head, it is also crooked.

Found this Lilian's worm the napkin drape too:

I think the other tiaras Sofia will wear are the six button, the cut steel, and the Connaught tiaras. I highly doubt she will wear the tiaras reserved for the queen and the tiaras owned by Vic and Maddie

2 new events for Sofia on the calendar. March 17, she and CP will attend the opening of an activity center in Husby, Stockholm.

And April 25 get ready for a shocker.... A board meeting of their foundation.

Another one?  I feel like 90% of the work these two idiots do involves board meetings for their foundation.   Roll Eyes

There is literally no other royal in Europe who meets with their foundation throughout the year as the bulk of their official "work".  If they can't find actual things for these two idiots to do, then they need to kick them off the payroll.  Either they do real work or no paycheck.

Another 10 % is covered by Project Playground gala dinners and fundraisers.  Roll Eyes

Or go to Tinytown in Varmland to cut the ribbon to the opening of a new phone booth in the town square.  Roll Eyes

 Star  Thank you.

So either Kirstine quite busywith her duties, no longer holding the position, or Sofia overrules some of her education. Or out-right refuses to listen and learn.

Whatever the reason excuse, they way Sofia decided to wear that gorgeous amethyst tiara makes me  Sad   I just can't look at that photograph without inwardly      Dead

Isn't the small cut steel tiara that she wore personally owned by Victoria?

Yes, I believe it is.  The larger steel cut belongs to the family, and I have read that Vikkan owns the smaller one.

yes I forgot about that. Nevertheless I doubt she will wear the modern fringe or Lilian's tiara.

I know. That was my first thought when I saw this on the calendar...another one?!?!

Also I feel like the Question needs to be asked...with all of these board meetings, what is their charity actually doing? How is it making a difference?

Hmm, that is thought provoking.   Thinking

While the Six Button Tiara does belong to the Bernadotte Family Foundation and has been wore by many of the royal ladies, Victoria seems to use if fairly often along with Princess Christina. It is pretty tall so it makes a statement and I have no doubt that Sofia would love to get her hands on it.  I think the Six Button definitely needs "tiara hair" to look it's best and while I think there is a possibility that Sofia will get a chance to wear it, if she does, her smooth slick hairstyles ensure that it won't look it's best.

The Cut-Steel Tiara also belongs to the Family Foundation so in theory Sofia could have a chance at wearing it, however, I am not sure if she will. First, I think Sofia is more about the bling and I don't know if she will gravitate to the Cut-Steel because it has no gems. Additionally, Victoria seems partial to this particular tiara, has worn it fairly often to state functions and while it is not her signature piece, Sofia may be discouraged if she expresses interest.

Someone correct me if I am wrong, but I think the Connaught Tiara is a privately owned by King Carl Gustaf. While I have no doubt that Sofia is likely drooling over this piece and will try to have a turn wearing it, I kind of hope that she doesn't. First, Queen Silvia still wears this quite often and Crown Princess Victoria has started wearing it too. While I do like the fact that the Swedish ladies share tiaras, I also like the fact that some are just off limits. Sofia is what many us consider a minor royal and therefore, maybe her access should not be all-inclusive.  However, CG seems partial to her so who knows if she presents her plea to wear it to him personally.

In spite of all I wrote, part of me thinks Sofia will try to get her hands on every single tiara - just to prove she has access to them. Although in all honesty, I think that some will be off limit. (Cross my fingers and hope and pray)
But what do I know?  I didn't think Sofia would get her hands on the amethyst so quickly so.... Huh?

This is JMHO, but I don't think Sofia will be able to wear any tiaras that have recently been worn by Silvia or Victoria. Yes, Sofia got her greasy, grubby palms on the amethysts but neither Vic or Silvia have worn that tiara in some time. Same goes for Vic's small cut steel and the four buttons.

I think it's possible that Sof could be seen next in the six button provided Princess Christina isn't using it. That said, I don't believe she will wear the Connaught any time soon as Silvia still actively wears it; as do Vic and Madeleine.  I also include the Baden Fringe in that since it's said to be meant for the Crown Princess but Silvia also recently wore it. It's possible she will wear the larger Cut Steel next as it's known that neither Silvia or Madeleine care for it. The Cameo in my opinion isn't 'ol Sof's style and she won't want it.

I still believe Madeleine will never allow her Modern Fringe to be seen on Sofia's mop of hair and I believe that Lilian's tiara holds a special place in Vic's heart. I truly think only Estelle will wear Lilian's tiara after Vic.

I agree about the Modern Fringe, especially since it is rumored to have been gifted to Madeleine as a wedding present.  Easy to refuse Sofia's request.  Wink    Supercontent

Victoria inherited the Laurel Wreath Tiara from Lilian and I believe it is a very sentimental and beloved reminder of her special relationship with Lilian. Because of the special sentimentality I too, cannot imagine Victoria loaning it to anyone except Estelle when she is old enough.  Until then, I hope Victoria makes it exclusively hers.
