Luckily she matures with age - there were years (and years) we did not have much hope for her at all - but it is a late blossom. For years you had to be afraid she would go down the MM route when it came to work ethic and holidays.
So very true. Thanks for this, Miss Marple. I agree 100%. I have always believed her love and affections were with William but that Royal life, after the rush of excitement, was a shock, even with the years of preparation. The intense pressure to have children (which in spite of the terrible treatment she suffered from the paps pre-wedding) was a whole new level; the scrutiny;l the mistakes (no skirt weighting!); the endless parsing of her every movement and the torrent of “work-shy”. Well, I did that too, I did my share of that. Seeing Catherine rise - bloom - mature into her role - become the pivot player in the way that Camilla never could (due to the history of her and Charles) is a testament to her, and to her family/the BRF’s support of her (even if we didn’t necessarily see it).
She found her own place in the sun, and moves from strength to strength.
