The Princess of Wales has been learning how to treat battlefield casualties during a training exercise with the 1st Battalion Irish Guards on Salisbury Plain on her first visit to the regiment since becoming Colonel.

Yes she does and I hope that Catherine will continue to meet with the Irish Guards in this manner and with the more formal occasions like the upcoming St. Patrick's Day shamrock delivery.

Fantastic to be with ‘The Micks’ today seeing their hard work (whatever the weather!)

And she looks great doing so. I don't mind the khaki-legging/pants. She wears the camo jacket, but her own boots and warm socks, so that is fine and I always find the head to toe military garb for someone who doesn't really belong a bit silly. Plus I am happy she wore her hair in such a fitting fashion. 10years ago she would have should up in Spaniel locks.

If she had, I’m sure she’d be accused of cosplaying soldier.

They are cargo pants. Rewear. She would have rocked camo pants as well so I don’t see a problem.
She wore regular pants when she visited an Army training site as well. Perhaps she doesn’t feel comfortable in the total uniform. Maybe it’s the American in me but I don’t like seeing non serving people in military uniforms. Camo jacket is one thing in this setting, even pants, but I hope I never see her dressed up formally like Anne. No disrespect intended to Anne.

I’m happy to see her doing something new and different. And I’m happy to see her in a French braid. However, I think it’s rather ridiculous that she shows up in full makeup and also touting big blue. It’s jarring to see her pictured with the woman Soldier who has a streak of camouflage and Kate has a streak of bronzer. I’m not saying no make up but let’s not make the photo op SO obvious. And leave big blue at home, wear a gold band out in the battlefield.

That is not a battlefield, and she was not really participating in training. There would have no need for her to wear camouflage make-up.
And if she is anything like me, she might look rather tired and pale without make-up. Not everybody rocks the fresh face.
Those pictures however will go around and if she looked anything but "her usual pretty" people might either think she was sickly or not really liking her day at the camp. Both not good options.
