Fairy: my point was missed, I suppose. Obviously she isn’t in Ukraine. And I understand that she probably would never want to leave the house with no makeup. I know I wouldn’t and the only person who sees me is the grocery clerk and my child’s bus driver. I felt it was very heavy make up and, along with a big sapphire ring, it looked exactly what it was: just a photo op. There should have been middle ground. IMO.

Some women just wear makeup all the time, regardless of the activity. My mom had a friend who used to go water skiing in full hair and makeup. As for the ring, I’m sure they were told what sort of jewelry could or couldn’t be worn, and if the military had said anything, she wouldn’t be wearing it.

Nice to see her getting more involved, and I like the hair in the French braid.  I'm also glad she's not actually in a full uniform, but the jeggings are ridiculous (and you can't convince me they'd actually be warm in that weather!).

Well, sometimes makeup is referred to as “war paint…”  Laugh bounce

That is not a battlefield, and she was not really participating in training. There would have no need for her to wear camouflage make-up.
And if she is anything like me, she might look rather tired and pale without make-up. Not everybody rocks the fresh face.
Those pictures however will go around and if she looked anything but "her usual pretty" people might either think she was sickly or not really liking her day at the camp. Both not good options.

I agree. The same with big blue. If the ring is missing it would start rumors. I think she looked fine, except the pants were too tight. They are actually of heavy material with french seams, they do have pockets and were probably warm enough but Just a bit too tight for me.

She did have her hair held out of the way, and she was properly dressed for the engagement and weather.

Kate was interested, hands on when needful and attentive. A good first outing for her and the Irish Guards,

I just saw the pix of Sophie at her military outing and she was dressed almost identical. She too wore skin tight legging-pants. Both look great, though tbf, Sophie (al though fabulous looking and in great shape) is about 20 years older than Kate.

I'm so glad she's finally tamed her long hair! It's gorgeous and I'm jealous but it was so out of control for so long!

I feel silly commenting on her clothing but she looks so great and professional in outfits like this. Perfect for this meeting.

The business angle is interesting - not something that comes to mind so I'm curious what kind of angle it will take.

Ok so she is slim but the jegging style pants would not be seen as appropriate in a corporate environment..... perhaps visit a female ceo to see how they managed their lives and clothes

I think cigarette trousers are very professional. At some time I was working with a directrice in an european institution, it was her work uniform. Plus blazer, sweater, high heels and pearls.

I have to say she is looking into many different aspects of a child's early years, this one could have several tangents all on its own. It also allows more involvement by more people, which means more interest and more ownership. Much better for the Early Years project as a whole.

She does look nice, and yay! it's all rewears.
