Doesn't make sense to me --how "cloistered" are these women?  How could he have gotten so close to her as to make her pregnant?  Is she still around?  Not stoned for adultery?  There's only so much you can hush up, even there, surely.

Celia the upper class in Dubai are not that cloistered,it may be strange to hear but the girls from high society in Dubai the daughters of sheikhs and princes are having great space to live how they like..
I really don't know the story behind Sheilha Latifa but seriously having look at the other girls of Mo like Mohra or Maryam they are having their own life and intersts and hubbies and they are not under siege at all.

What I heard is that Rashid wanted to marry a woman who is older than him, with grown children, but his father refused to give consent.  The lady's family name is Beljafla, or something similar.  Anyway, Rashid ended up getting her pregnant anyway, and he had a son with her.  That son, named Mohammed, is probably 15 or 16 by down, and is sometimes seen with Hamdan.  Now, Rashid and Hamdan's half-brother Majid fell in love with the grown daughter of Rashid's lover, and Sheikh Mohammed again refused to give his consent. Majid went ahead and married her anyway, which led to him being stripped of all his duties. After the birth of his children, Majid was given duties again, but they are very minor. In fact, it looks like it was Hamdan who gave him the duties, since the relate to activities within the control of the crown prince.

Never heard about that story but seriously anything could be true...
Because it must be a reason,a very good reason for Rached fall from grace especially he is the son of Sheikha Hind and she is very powerful woman in the state.

There where reports back then that he was resigned as a crown prince because he had killed a man in a rage brought on by steroids, and that he was addicted to drugs and alcohol. I do have a feeling that some of Shaykh Mohameds offspring do have mental or psychological issues. Shaykha Latifa might be paranoid for all we know, or bipolar. In any case that would explain why they would want to have her under control.

But Latifa is a skydiver instructor with certificate, she uses hi tech scuba underwater breething appartus to swim to a boat in the indian ocean and she survived 3 years and 4 moths of beating in a dark cell.

Sounds more Navy Seal to me then paranoid or some one with a weak mind...  Secret

Sorry but what the relation between seen her and her power and influence in Dubai?
I personally see none, the culture in this part of the world is simply different Sheikhas like Hind and Fatima Moubarak (first lady and powerful woman in  UAE) don't need their pix all around to prove their position in state
Sheikha Hind have her patronages charities and even business she daily attend meetings related to that and gives audiences to important personnalities from around the world she only doesn't like to be photographed due to cultural reason,i see Hind holding her grounds and interests more than the public wife Haya can do in case of any problem  Wink

UAE's gender equality awards won entirely by men
Emirati authorities ridiculed on social media after Gender Balance Index awards announced

Authorities in the United Arab Emirates have been ridiculed after it emerged that all of the winners of an initiative designed to foster gender equality in the workplace were men.

Certificates and medals were awarded by Sheik Mohammed bin Rashid al-Maktoum, the vice-president of the United Arab Emirates and ruler of Dubai, in the categories of “best government entity supporting gender balance”, “best federal authority supporting gender balance” and “best gender balance initiative” at a ceremony on Sunday.

Without the oil UAE would have been just another country of extreme poverty. I just can't with them. For each princess parading her wealth there are thousand of oppressed women.
