Loosely translated as:

'Hostage' Princess Latifa  also possible sound of Pegasus spy software

The phone number of the Dubai princess Latifa has also appeared on the list of possible targets of the spy software Pegasus. Latifa is the "hostage" daughter of the Emir of Dubai, whom she has accused in the past of torture and from whom she has tried to get away.

Latifa tried to flee by boat in 2018, but was stopped. It was unclear how her escape attempt was discovered at the time. The Washington Post now reports that Latifa's and her friends' numbers appeared on the list of potential targets in the days and hours after she began her escape attempt.

In recent days, international media such as The Guardian, The Washington Post and Le Monde have published extensively about the Pegasus spy software of the Israeli company NSO Group. The software, which the company says is intended to track down terrorists and criminals, may also have been used to hack into the phones of heads of state, journalists and activists.

Princess Haya
International news organizations have been investigating a list of some 50,000 phone numbers that may have been targeted by Pegasus. The NSO Group denies that the people on the list were monitored.

The name of Princess Haya, one of the six wives of the Emir of Dubai, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid al-Maktoum, is also on the list. She fled Dubai in 2019 and her number was also put on the list during the period of that flight.

I saw that too Principessa.  Poor Latifa - she thought she was free and then bang she isnít.

Absolute power corrupts absolutely.

I don't think that Latifa and her sister Shamza will ever be free again.

Haya was lucky so far.

I know.  I wonder if we'll be reading about a kidnapping attempt on Haya and the kids...

Haya and the kids must be in hiding - no sight of them in years.

I suspect they might be back in the Middle East and no we wonít see her .... children perhaps in many years .... her husband or ex now would make sure he put them in a place that is beyond reach

I thought the divorce was going through in London? I can't see them being back in Dubai while it is all still going through. I can imagine Haya is hiding out in a luxury mansion somewhere with plenty of space to keep to themselves. We only ever really saw her at the big events such as Ascot here anyway and clearly she'll be giving them a miss for now.

I would think the last place Haya would want to be is in the Middle East.

I agree! It is really over for Haya if she returns to the Middle East. I am sure is safely hiding in England. There have been no sightings of her at all.

Upon her request, H.H Sheikha Latifa Bint Mohammed Al Maktoum met in private today Michelle Bachelet, the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights in Paris. The Sheikha conveyed to the High Commissioner that she was well and expressed her wish for respect for her privacy.
"Latifa would like to make clear that she is living as she wishes, that she is traveling as she wishes, that she is perfectly well, and that she would like the media to allow her to live in peace." The Sheikha said in a statement provided to Sky News.
