would anyone be of the same opinion as me on this matter ? - that women who marry royal men should remain as private citizens just like the (majority) of men who marry royal women. Women's movements have come a long way giving women their own identity and not assuming their husbands' positions and styles. However, in royal circles, women are expected to give up their identity, nationality and religion and become "fashion icons" instead. IMO women who have allowed this to happen (to themselves) have put the womens' movements back years. JMO.

A French king's son was called Fils de France, Son of France.   
The Dauphin of France was the title given to the heir apparent to the throne of France from 1350 to 1791 and 1824 to 1830. The wife of the Dauphin was known as la Dauphine.

If Crown Prince Wilhelm of Germany had succeeded his father Emperor Wilhelm II, he would have been His Imperial and Royal Majesty Emperor Wilhelm III of Germany and King of Prussia.

I had to look it up, because I was a tad unsecure about this: but, when using the title majesty, a prefix like imperial or royal is not used. In some cases in Germany and Austria, people showing their deep reverence would add something like "allerverehrteste" "ehrwürdigste" etc, but generally not.
So to clear it up: correct title would be:
his royal highness for a prince of a kingdom (PoW Charles) and her imperial highness for e.g. a princess of an empire (Grand-duchess Anastasia of Russia)
But Majesty would be the same...

Would not Wilhelm II have had both Imperial and Majesty? Imperial to coordinate with his being Emperor of Germany and Majesty to coordinate with his being King of Prussia.

No, like fairy already said the title is Majesty without imperial or royal.

Wilhelm II. was his majesty, because he was King of Prussia and Emperor of Germany. Whether it's a King or Emperor (or in Russia Tsar) makes no difference here.

Imperial and royal meanwhile referes to the children/grandchildren of the monarchs (or siblings).

Imperial, because the land of which the title originates from is an Empire (Kaiserreich), royal, because it's a Kingdom (Königreich).

Stephen (Istvan) was Grand Prince of the Hungarians. He reigned 997 to 1000 or 1001.     
He decided to strengthen his international status by adopting the title of king.

The first monarchs ever officially titled Grand Duke were the Medici sovereigns of Tuscany, starting from the late 16th century.
