I think that is the result of having a different body type.

Not only that. The white dress was kind of empire style for MT with a horizontal part of like 10 cm under the breast and skirt flowing free from there.
For Linus, they more than doubled the horizontal part, so that the skirt started at her waist, this most probably only to add length.
This has destroyed the empire style of the dress, and now it looks like a selfmade carneval costume, which is neither fish nor meat.

Nah I'll feel like kinda old lady but you rarely see clothes that are timeless, maybe the 60's. I would wear the shit out of some of the Mad Men costumes tbh.

Plus your clothes supposed to reflect your own style and personality, hand me downs are for unfortunate younger siblings and cousins Smiley

oh dear, the white one wasn't a success IMO
ITA
The floral dress was very flattering on Stephanie but the white one was not at all for her figure.

Wonder why they do this? Steph is too lazy  to have a stylist find her something to wear and it's too late?
Saving money? Power play by MT?

When you have a look in the several royals sharing outfit topics you will encounter many examples from Luxembourg. IMO they are notorious with regard to sharing clothing (incl. hats, bags, shoes etc.) Not only MT and Stephanie, but also other members of the (extended) Lux family.

Is it just recycling, frugality (avaricious), being nice or different?

I don't get it ... looking at Stephanie and MT ... they are different women with different styles, so it does not really work out even though it is communicating that they are getting along great (might be the non-verbal message after the Tessy desaster).

The Swedish clothes recycling I find a bit odd. the 80s were a very distinquished fashion period and looking back not a very fortunate one. Well ... why would you turn up to an offical event in something that outdated?
