It's nice to see pictures in the gardens of Zarzuela instead of inside or just in the facade of the office pavilion.

For the lunch Letizia is wearing a Carolina Herrera dress she debuted in Japan.

I agree Clara.  The gardens are very appropriate for spring.

I just love how the ladies look smitten whenever Felipe kisses their hand.  I would too!   Swoon

The Costa Rican First Lady is Spanish! I didn't know that! Like it usually happens it seems she and Letizia really get along, Letizia always seems like a great hostess, like with Juliana Awada or Michelle Obama, who both left Spain saying they considered Letizia a friend (Obama) or an example (Awada)

I read not only the First Lady a Spanish, she's from Madrid and graduated from Leti's university. That's probably why they hit it off right away. She's 4 years ahead of Leti though and she's in political science. She went to Costa Rica to study international relations and fell in love with her teacher, current president, who was married with 5 kids but unhappy. He divorced and their daughter was born in the same year. They never married. (Is this a Catholic thing?  Thinking) She's regarded as the First Lady nonetheless.

A couple Spanish press are drawing parallels between her life and Leti's. Jeez, could you imagine what Spanish tabloids would say if Leti's life really runs parallel to this lady's?

^ Leti looks absolutely smashing! Head to toe is great.

Re the marriage, sometimes folks don't remarry because the church will not recognize it. But many churches (unfortunately Sad) will also not recognize a child born outside of marriage. My cousin actually went through this, it took her a while to find a priest who would baptize her baby  Nono

But, maybe the President and first lady simply didn't want to marry/don't put a value on the institution?

Thanks for sharing the first lady's background Thumb up I have yet to see any visiting dignitary not have a warm response to Leti and Felipe.

You are welcome.

How could anyone not have a warm response to Leti? She hugs and kisses everyone on the cheeks.
