Someone remind me what this sullen group of slack jaws have done to be up on that balcony, besides being born?

All of them were there merely because they're born to the "right" parents. That includes QEII as well.  Whistle

But seriously, if you're born into privileges, act happy. Is it so hard cracking a smile or at least, not frowning at peasants?  Roll Eyes

I thought I saw Lady Davina in the far left cluster, with a little girl.  Didn't see her husband or sister.  Princess Alexandra and all the Armstrong-Jones clan seem to be missing as well.

Thanks, Celia. Yes, one of the Gloucester Girls is on the far left, but I can never tell the 2 of them apart. Thinking
I just saw a good photo @OSS of the entire group, and Alexandra is at the very end on the left. Some people are definitely hidden at the back, impossible to know who.

Ok, don't kill me  Halo but I think Savannah is a beautiful and happy girl and seems to have a free spirit, but her hair is a mess, probably she likes it long and down (like most of the little girls) but at least for this occasion her mother would have insisted on combing and making it look nice.

Agree, it needs a good trim, and a BRUSH!  No

Also, by the look on his face, PG has caught a whiff of the peasants below  Nerves

Who is the poor chap in the sailor suit?!

The was child on the balcony last year in the same outfit. Can't find a picture in RD that shows the full cohort of royals on the balcony from 2016.

Here's last year's picture on the balcony with boy in the sailor suit.

Upon closer inspection he might be one of Lord Nicholas' sons.  That is a DREADFUL outfit though.  William had to suffer the sailor suit outfit one year as well.  It's not the 1910's guys, sailor suits on royal children is not necessary.

I adore George's outfit, braces are quite popular at present among little chaps and the sailor suit is fabulous. I've always loved them on girls and boys alike. I can see many of you don't like how the children are dressed but that's the way all my family and friends dress children for smart and semi smart occasions. Anything else is seen as a slovenly mother not making an effort!

Sorry Jono, I don't see a photo like that here or in the Queen/DoE thread. Where is it? Thinking

I saw it live from the rear. His chair wasn't as ornate as the queens and Phillips and his top hat was slightly shorter. I thought it might be William as he was bald but William was in uniform and this guy was in the same gear as Phillip

It was the Duke of Kent.

The DM did a "who's who" identifying people on the balcony.  You'd think, though, that they would do a better job labeling Lady Amelia Windsor, from doing so many "most beautiful royal" articles.  But no!

Perhaps the answer to the question...
Friend who keeps much closer track of these things than I ever will believes the boy in the sailor suit is Albert Windsor. Boy next to him, his older brother.

Albert Windsor, born 2007, son of Lord Nicholas Windsor (sister of Lady Helen Taylor)

Older brother: Leopold Windsor, born 2009. They have a younger brother named Louis born 2014.

So....perhaps the answer to the question.

They didn't label Princess Eugenie correctly either. They stated she was Beatrice and gave a small bio on her.  It took hours before they made a correction and then it was only in in the list but the caption under the picture was still incorrect.    Crazy

The DM writers & editors are horrible at correctly identifying the royals.
