Nice find, Cyril!  Star

IMO, those children don’t look anything alike.  Strange.

I see a bit of Elena in her mother Sofia, the eldest girl in the front.

Well there is a certain similarity. However I think that Margriet is an attractive mature Lady, whereas poor Wilhelmina never had a claim to beauty or attractivity. Now, perhaps this is due to modern styling and/or the idea that women of any age can dress nicely???

Perhaps that is the case.

While when Wilhelmina became older she became a kind of plump lady. Just like her true image statue in The Hague:

What I've heard from old stories, and heck even from a modern show taking place in the past, Irene was considered the beauty of the 4 princesses. And IMO she still retained something of it.

I did understand your comment, personally I see some resemblance between the siblings. Something about the eye area.

But I also noticed some features in young Sofia which reminded me of Elena.

Sorry about reposting all the pictures.  Which tiaras is she wearing in those 2 pic?  They are gorgeous from what I can see of them.

Quick question: Are we allowed to embed pictures in the thread? It says above the post as you're posting that we shouldn't embed, or that was my understanding, anyway. I will continue to link only until I get clearer information on that.

Every time I go to RCT website, which is often, I keep seeing Prince Arthur, Duke of Connaught: https://www.rct.uk/collec...ke-of-connaught-1850-1942

He looks so pensive. I think he was only seven. From the RCT:
Quote
n this photograph, taken by Caldesi in 1857, the Prince has adopted a pose reminiscent of the two putti in Raphael's 'Sistine Madonna'.

It's quite true, look at the Sistine Madonna here: https://commons.wikimedia...lienzo,_265_x_196_cm).jpg
