Lots of people speculated that M looked pregnant when she showed up at the equestrian event last week. Perhaps people around her started to notice too and the court decided to confirm it before the rumours became too widespread?
I can't see why Sofia would leak this. She must know the trail would lead back to her and she would have nothing to gain by doing it as it takes away attention from herself and her upcoming birth.

But why? To have the time in the limelight after the birth by herself? This is so weird. Once again.  I agree that it seems very strange but if only the family knew about this, S seem to be the most likely to accuse for the leak. Maybe someone of the palace staff is responsible? I don't get the motivation behind the leak either, especially if it is Sssssss (which would be the most likely source, agreed). Her motivation is usually to get positive attention towards herself and negative towards the person she blabs about. This basically takes the attention away from her pregnancy and gives it to Madde. Unless she is planning on doing something soon that might gather negative press and needs attention diverted to someone the public already has a negative opinion on...  What is it, another huge handout to herself or something big and pompous for her new baby?  |

 I was thinking this earlier - Estelle is still only 5 and now there are so very many little ones! I hope that they will all form a close bond and support network together as they grow. |

There's no way Sofia leaked this. As pointed out earlier, her pregnancies have been overshadowed.
However, I can easily imagine that Sofia knew and bitched about it to her friends (precisely because her pregnancies have been overshadowed - and now Madde's going to be pregnant during Sofia's baby's christening) who then proceeded to try and make some money out of this juicy bit of gossip. Such is life when a snake is admitted to the family.

Or she leaked it now because she doesn't want to be overshadowed when she gives birth and publishes the first baby pics. If her due date is really mid september this could have been the time Madde would have announced it.

This. IMVHO, I think the announcement came because life just got in the way. It was becoming noticeable that something was up regarding her body. In the very last picture that was posted of Madeleine and Chris, which was taken the day before the announcement - Mad's face looks very full. I also don't doubt that she was overheard in a restaurant speaking about the pregnancy. Therefore, the news was announced just to get ahead of rumors, speculation, stories and as a way to maybe keep her name out of the tabloids. We all know Madeleine isn't a fan of being in the media spotlight unless it's a predetermined interview situation. I don't think it was anything sinister. |

So I will have lots of reason to celebrate next spring as I feel very sympathetic with Madde as if she was one of my own daughters.  My daughter announced when she did because she is always so sick that it's hard to keep that secret, poor girl. I will be spending lots of time with them to help both mommy and daddy out, and also so the other little ones get lots of love while they go through this change in their family. |
