June 10
Joachim visits Danish Air Show 2018
All four princes attend Sunday in Danish Air Show 2018. His Royal Highness Prince Joachim had his three sons Nikolai, Felix and Henrik looking out for the many planes.

- "It's always fun. If you've seen Top Gun or any other movie that's flying, we'll get it all 400 meters away with all the decibels that matter, it also puts things in a positive perspective. It's such a boy's day", says Prince Joachim.

Prince Joachim and the sons also had to see a lot of flights also time for a visit to one of the defense's stands. Here they visited the overseer Michael Johansen, who comes from the dog school in Karup. Here they train all for military dogs for the whole defense. The superintendent was excited about the royal visit.

- "It gives a little extra attention and that's how it should be. We are all royal in defense", said chief Michael Johansen.

Prince Joachim is himself a part of the defense as Colonel of the Reserve. Prince Nikolai begins this summer at the Sergent School in Varde and thus initiates a military training.

Prince Joachim threw a royal glow over the EAGE conference in Bella Center at Amager in Copenhagen. Today, the major exhibition center forms the framework for important conversations when it comes to oil and gas production - and not least green energy, as Denmark is known for the world over.

The up to 6,000 participants got much more than just the presence of a Danish prince. With usual humor and knowledge, Prince Joachim spoke of Denmark's entry into oil production in the early 60's and about the Danes first oil fields in the North Sea. A project that far from everyone believed.

- "It is said that the leading geologist promised that he would drink every drop of oil that came up from the underground", said the prince, among other things.

In the coming days, many engineers and researchers to the conference will discuss new ways in which we can utilize the resources of the planet as best as possible.

Nice to see all 3 boys together at an event ( not meaning they are kept apart or anything).
Has the oldest started school yet or not?

June 12
Joachim visited - as patron - the Danish training ship, that houses are 80 students and 15 crew members.
The training course for students lasts five months.

Prince Joachim was in a great mood when he arrived at Vedbæk Harbor in North Zealand on Tuesday. Once again, the Skoleskip Denmark's protector had said yes to sail the last stretch to Copenhagen Harbor, where relatives of the crew were ready to receive.

The school ship has just returned from the year's journey, which has brought students and crew to Spain, Ireland and Portugal this year. Once the students have greeted the prince and their friends, families and partners, the ship turns to Frederikshavn, where the students officially deboard.

Prince Joachim has for many years supported the school ship and last year he had invited Princess Marie, Prince Henrik and Princess Athena on the sailing trip from Vedbæk to Copenhagen.

Jokke really grew into his role as "shadow king". So bad that he was not born first. He and Marie would make a lovely royal couple.

June 18
Joachim visited DTU in Lyngby to inspect a car with the potential to beat the world record in going the furthest with the least fuel.
Every year, students from DTU participate in an even better version of an ultra-economical car than the one they had with last year. And one thing is for sure: Prince Joachim meets with students every year and asks a lot of questions for the students who, in turn, receive a lot of support from the prince.

This year, DTU is setting up two cars that will participate in a race being launched in London, and especially the self-propelled car raised a special interest with the prince, who unfortunately did not even have the opportunity to attend the race.

- "I have not been in London, Paris or Amsterdam. But now the race has become so popular and there are lots of cities that want to participate in", said the prince, who follows the many students' further progress when trying to beat new records in London.

Joachim attended - as Patron of the AQUA Aquarium & Animal Park - its 25th anniversary celebrations in Silkeborg

The new facility is the first part of a major development plan of Aqua in the coming years. Prince Joachim is the protector of Aqua Aquarium. He emphasized that Aqua has a high level of professionalism and helps to enrich knowledge about nature for both children and adults.

- "The next generation gets knowledge about nature and its vulnerability. It is indispensable if we also have to take care of our wildlife and nature in Denmark in the future", he said.

The Prince did not hide the fact that he enjoys visiting Aqua and the Freshwater Center, and there was also room for a relaxed joke in the official language.

- "Aqua has recently been marked at national level by becoming one of the few centers for invasive species. Abbreviated CIA. Just think about it', he said.

Prince Joakim was in charge of cutting the line to the new badger den, where Aqua, as the first-time first in the world, could show a badger in front of the audience. After the badger visit, Prince Joachim told that he had previously seen a badger.

- "But not in daylight. Only in the lights of the car", he said.

He praised the new badger's cave, which he believes gives a good impression of the living conditions of the animals.

- "It's very realistic", he said.
