Congratulations to Madeleine, Chris and all their familiy  Champagne Star

I was wondering why the sex was announced with a press release. IIRC It has been always announced with the press conference held after the birth. But Margareta Thorgren announced that won't be any press conference this time. This was decided already when the events in connection of the birth were planned by Madeleine, Chris and the press department.

I would love them to name her Lilian  Hug

Leonore already has Lilian as one of her names but it would be lovely.
And It would also stop others in the family to use it for any of their hypothetic future daughters  Halo

I'm really happy for Madeleine and for Chris, and for the two older children.  My mom used to say, every baby comes with its own love, and being born into this family will multiply that love many times over.

Warmest wishes to all of them, on a cold late-winter day.

Thanks! Strange the first info was just "barn", wasn't it?  Thumb up

Yay! They seem to be such a sweet and strong family unit. Another adorable princess. How fun. I must say, the use of the word "barn" in the release took me back to reading the Outlander series.

Yes it was.
Chris talked a little with Svensk Dam when he left the hospital and said the little girl looks like Nicolas but has more hair.
They'll be going home today. Smiley

Perhaps she'll have Victoria somewhere in her name since the Te Deum coincides with Victoria name day

I know not everyone thinks that with the lack of defense against the unwarranted bad press on Madde, that Victoria deserves to have a niece named after her but I could easily see Madde being the bigger person and using it anyway as a show of loyalty to the future Queen.
Unless it's against tradition to name someone after a living person in Sweden?

No it's not against tradition at all.
In fact, in my family the "family name" is Kristina. Almost every female of every generation is baptized Kristina. Smiley
