What the hell  Real mad

Henrik only passed away six months ago today. How insensitive to publish this while the family is probably still mourning a husband, father and grandfather in private  Ranting

November 15
The Jade collection of Prince Henrik

According to an article  published in the Danish press, Joachim and Fred inherit all Jade objects, collected by their father since childhood.

- "When, at the age of four, he received the first piece of jade donated by his father while the Monpezat family lived in Vietnam".

- According to their father's wish, Frederik, 50, and Joachim, 49, inherit the precious collection and they can do what they want".

Nobody really knows the value of the huge collection of more than 800 pieces.

- "I will give my collection to my sons or directly to my grandchildren. I do not want to force them to keep the entire collection. They can do what they want".

In 2017, Prince Henrik presented a small part of his jade collection at the Koldinghus Museum; More than 85,000 people visited this exhibition that lasted seven months.

800 pieces? Wow!
Maybe Fred and Jokke can turn it to a permanent exhibition, open to the public.

Yeah, they’re won’t.

Fred will never see his half if Madam has any kind of crack at it.

Collections that are very specific are hard to keep together after a person passes especially if the ones who inherit it don’t have that passion themselves. Personally, I wouldn’t feel obligated to maintain it. Donate it if the museum wants it or let each family member pick a special piece as a memento then sell the rest.

sorry, didn't feel i needed to add a new topic.

the copenhagen auction house, Bruun Rasmussen, which is just down the street from Amalienborg, will be auctioning Prince Henrik's African & Jade collections.  they said that the family already chose what they wanted, so what's being sold is what they don't want.  guess he had a 'museum' on the top floor of Château de Cayx in France where his collections were displayed. "Part of the proceeds from the auction will go to the two royal foundations, the Crown Prince Couple's Foundation and the Nikolai & Felix Foundation."

Auction: 27-29 August 3pm in Bredgade 33 in Copenhagen

Preview: 16-25 August at the same address – 3-7pm on the opening day and noon to 5pm on all other days.
