Lynda, I fully agree with you. Joachim is his son and must feel grateful,too . Marie seems to have truly loved  Henrik and enjoyed her time with him and all four of his second son's children adored their grandpa and were a source of joy for him.

I don't blame Marie.  I'd be uncomfortable too.  You just know that Madame makes everything miserable and tense.

The Queen held a Christmas reception at Christiansborg Castle.
In addition to the royal staff, this year, guests consisted of collaborators who were particularly involved in Prince Henrik's illness and departure. The entertainment at the event consisted, among other things, of a scene from the ballet set-up by The Persistent Tinsoldat. The queen is a scenographer of the setup and has also created the costumes. Also invited the Crownprince's family.

Everybody is bowing to them. I would never bow to anybody, let alone to a bunch of rich spoilt people.

Fred didn't take Communion and left early.

I never really associate nose in the air with smug, especially in photos and even for Mary but both Marie and Fred looks very uncomfortable to me (especially their faces and their body language). Mary looks tense and Joachim looks like that one person in a group who feels the tense atmosphere and is not sure how to deal with it so he stays back lol

I like Marie's outfit and Mary's coat but I hate that frilly blouse she wore underneath. I'm curious as to why Fred left early.

I don't think he takes communion. Henri always left the church early as well if I remember correctly.
