Very sad for all of her family and friends who remain - one of my closest friends - her daughter aged 25 did the same last year - I know that for the person concerned they don't see another path to take - but the impact will never lessen Sad

Yes - people can see physical side effects of some illnesses - but mental issues and other conditions are not obvious and those with them don't always get the support they need in the wider community and don't feel able sometimes to call out for assistance - I hope that those of us who have family and friends who might seem not to be in a good place reach out and ask what we can do, and be able to listen and hear . .

Such sad news, it's really the one of the worst ways to go- both for the family left behind thinking what they could have done and to think a person sees no other option then this. My thoughts with Max and her family. I know father has passed away but if her mom is alive then how terrible for her to burry a child. No parent should see this day.

This poor family.   And less than a year after their father's death.

My grandfather committed suicide when I was 17. I was sleeping right in the next room and my housekeeper woke me up saying he has drank an entire bottle of bathroom cleaner. Only my sister and I was home at the time, we took him to hospital but he struggled to hold on and died after 2 days in ICU.

I still think why? He had no history of depression, was active and had just returned from his morning walk. Even after 8 years I still rack my brain and go back to the day and days before his death again and again trying to figure out why he did it. All we had was a note saying I am done and no one is responsible for this. My grandmother got a heart attack when she found out and was never the same after his death.

I hope Maxima finds strength and hopefully some answers as well. No explanation will make her and family feel better but it's a better place to be then to have all these unanswered questions hanging over you for the rest of your life .

I fully agree. It gets to me that some people feel too ashamed to speak out about certain things too.

Very sad news! I feel especially sorry for the mother, there is no worse loss than the loss of a child. Perhaps Letizia can give Maxima some comfort, she had experienced the same tragedy. At least the Dutch press will hopefully be more decent than the Spanish gutter press which tried to make Letizia somewhat responsible for her sister's suicide.
I hope that the family will not hesitate to search for professional help if they need some.

Very sad and tragic news. I also thought immediately of Letizia.

A journalist of the Dutch De Telegraaf has given an interview and said the family knew of Ines's mental health issues, Maxima even had her over in the Netherlands to live with them, found her a job and therapy, I don't know how long Ines was in the Netherlands and when that was, in any case she obviously returned as she was living again in Buenos Aires before her death. Also rumours that Ines had paranoia and anorexia (over the years).
Ines studied psychology at the university of Belgrade apparently, and supposedly wrote her thesis on suicide amongst men & women ("Inés studeerde psychologie aan de universiteit van Belgrado. Saillant detail is dat ze een proefschrift schreef over zelfmoord bij mannen en vrouwen. Máxima zou haar zusje aangeboden hebben om in Amsterdam te komen wonen om haar studie psychologie voort te zetten. Van 2009 tot 2011 werkte Inés bij de VN in Panama.")

https://www.telegraaf.nl/...gste-zusje-ines-overleden

Also seems that WA & Max are on their way to Buenos Aires, how long Max will stay isn't clear, WA is expected back in time for his tour of the Baltic countries.

Good that both Max and Wax are on their way to Argentina, Max needs all the love and support she can get st this tragic time. From what I have read, Ines studied at the university of Belgrano, probably some private university named after one of Buenos Aires’s neighborhoods.
