Belgian Royal Family Titles

Hey all for some reason this jumped into my mind a few days ago.   So in 1891 a royal decree said that all legitimate male line descendants (and the spouses of Prince's) of Leopold I would be Prince/Princess of Belgium.  In 1991, Albert II changed that decree to only his legitimate descendants (male and female line) and wives of Prince's were no longer automatic.   Mathilde and Claire was created Princesses of Belgium effective on their respective wedding days and Lorenz was created a Prince of Belgium in 1995.   Fast forward to 2015, Philippe changed it again to the children and grandchildren of the monarch and the children and grandchildren of the heir.

So my question is--What will they do with Amedeo, Joachim, Nicolas, and Aymeric's wives?  I assume Gabriel and Emmanuel's wives will be created Princesses.  Elsabeth's husband will surely be created a prince.   And Eleonore's husband may also be created a prince just because.

I've seen Elisabetta as both HI&RH Archduchess Elisabetta of Austria-Este and HI&RH Princess Elisabetta of Belgium, Archduchess of Austria-Este.  And of course Nicolas & Aymeric don't have other titles.   Granted they have another 20ish years for the twins but I was wondering. 

Also what will the children of prince's use as their last name if they don't have the HRH Prince/Princess of Belgium?

Your right Baudouin did it in 1991 for all of Albert descendants male and female lines and took out the automatic for wives.  Good catch.

I think it was after the constitution changed from male online to birth order succession.   Since Astrid's kids got succession right but weren't princes/princess of Belgium.

Princess Elisabeth is called "Princess of Belgium" as the title "Prince of the Belgians" does not exist.

Albert and Paola were Prince and Princess of Liège until Albert became king. Could this be Gabriel's title?

I believe the additional titles with the exception of Duke/Duchess of Brabant are no longer used.

Don't know why though.

The duke/duchess of Brabant title is the only title which is still used as it belongs to the sole region in Belgium which covers Flemish and Wallonian territory and where both 2 mayor languages are spoken.
All the other titles like Count of Flanders or Prince of Liege are viewed as divisive, because they favour one linguistic group over another.

According to data online, Lorenz only received the title in the '90s by Royal Decree:

"...The title "Prince of Belgium" was granted to him by Royal Decree of 10 November 1995 by his father-in-law, King Albert II of Belgium...."

I guess it is because before 1991 Astrid was not in line of succession:

"...Though her family is in the line of succession now, that wasn’t always the case. Is it only the King and Queen who use "of the Belgians" instead of "of Belgium"?  Or am I mistaken and they are the King and Queen of Belgium?  I thought they went by "of the Belgians" to show their affinity towards and loyalty to the people of the country, rather than the territory/wealth.

Yes, only the King and Queen are titled “of the Belgians” while all others are “of Belgium”.
