Even without cancer, that's a distinct possibility. The average age span for a UK male is 79 years old. However, Charles has always seemed to live a healthier lifestyle so that will perhaps aid him.
I really hope that he has inherited the genes of his parents, 99 and 96 years old. Because, it also has to do a lot with genes.
And Queen Mum lived to 101.

She looks okay to me but I don’t like that hat.

Technically she probably still is. That said, everytime we've seen pictures from the drive to church the royals have all been said to look ill and certainly none have them have looked their best. I suspect its what happens when your taking pictures through moving car windows in pretty shaded conditions on Balmoral.

I find it annoying that the main part of the BRF is still "on holiday" in late Sept. when the rest of the natural world, including other royal families, are back to work.  Or at least, in the case of the rf's, back to full visibility.

I really had hoped that Charles would give up these lengthy  Edwardian sojourns but being the luxury loving man he is I suppose they come naturally to him.  It's disappointing that in this respect at least, -prolonged holidays at Sandringham and Balmoral- he sees no need to trim down.

I'd actually like to see Charles/Camilla spend July--September away from London to allow for a longer tourist season at BP.  Charles has "worked" while in Scotland...personally carrying out 22 CC entries in August, and 15 as of September 20th.  What he needs to do is better advertise that he's still "working" via photos on SM and a better press campaign.  Shifting the narrative from Balmoral/Sandringham being holiday time to just working from a different residence will take time but it's not impossible.

This.

Charles and Cams both did visits and engagements while at Birkhall/Balmoral this summer. I will say I think it would be better in terms of feasibility if most of their engagements were in Scotland/northern England during the summer. Barring unforeseen circumstances, of course.

I'm fine with them staying in Scotland - they both seem to be working so why not do it from elsewhere. I hate that everything has to be London centric. If they can still work from Scotland why not. Its the Labour party conference this week so there is no government work to be done as they are all in Liverpool.

(That said I do think they could do a better job at making it clear its not "holiday" just a change in residence)

William and Catherine will have been back at Windsor for a bit as term is well underway now. Seems they've just visited for a weekend.

It did seem odd for William and Catherine to be there now - the kids have next Friday off, so it would have made a bit more sense for them to come next weekend. Or maybe the kids were left home, as George has school on Saturdays now, I think. I suppose we shall never know. And that's okay.

They, like C&C and the late Queen, are able to use the RAF jets (or private jets paid for by the Sovereign Grant) for residence - residence travel so although Balmoral feels  a long way for a weekend if you can fly up (even on a scheduled) its only 17 mins to Heathrow from Windsor Castle (or 25 mins to  RAF Northolt where most of the RAF vip jets and civil private jets fly from) and 1hour from Aberdeen to Balmoral Castle.

I wonder if this means they might have plans for next weekend then, maybe a get away somewhere as family (otherwise as you say why go up this weekend and not next, unless they do both)
