I've never heard of this, it was widely reported on every single historical site that that was the tiara given by the City of London; her grandmother's tiara was inherited by her second daughter, Princess Elisabeth, who married count Toerring-Jettenbach, she even wore it at her wedding.

The tiara is still in the family, you can find some rare photos of old 80/90 events where they used it. At any rate, they might have had two fringes, «Miechen» was as rich as Cresus so that might be.  Wink

Elisabeth's family got the diamond tiara from GD Helen.  Archduchess Sophie (cousin of the Kents) wore it at her own wedding.

Some of these blogs are just wrong --their "research" consists of reading other people's blogs, not the original sources.  Ursula's wonderful site royal-magazin.de uses primary sources and original news reports.

I would have never thought there was so much misinformation about this piece. It didn't seem very important.
At this point, I would like to see Gabriella wear it at her wedding just because she can.  Wink

That's the same info I had, especially given the reports on Miechen's inheritance, they divided their jewels according the either gem/pearl. If I remember this right, GD Helen got all the pearls, her brothers got the rest of the stones.

Lady Gabriella and Lord Freddy are on good terms with the rest of the family, and I would even say, loved. Sadly, not the same can be said about her mother.  Secret

I get a feeling that a worm has turned in the immediate BRF,  I won't speculate as to what caused it but it seems that there seems to be a new appreciation of the extended clan and I am glad for it and for Lady Gabriella.

Now if QEII could extend this appreciation and consideration to the continental royal cousins

It will be interesting to see if Lady Gabriella uses white daffodils or white tulips in her bridal bouquet.

I don't think the ceremony will be broadcast but its likely there will be coverage of arrivals and departures. That would be similar to the coverage of Zara and Peter's weddings.

Am I right that Lady Gabriella was not invited to the most recent big royal wedding?
