The Father of August seems to be a cousin of the late Richard, pixiekitteh

So

Richard 4th had 3 sons:

* Gustav Albrecht 5th ---> late Richard 6th ---> Gustav 7th

* Christian-Heinrich 5th ---> no issues

* Prince Ludwig Ferdinand ---> Prince Otto Ludwig
                                       ---> Prince Johann-Stanislaus
                                       ---> Prince Ludwig Ferdinand ---> Prince August

The Gustav Albrecht 5th line is the main line for the title

Richard, 4th Prince of Sayn-Wittgenstein-Berleburg (1882-1925)

* Gustav Albrecht, 5th Prince of Sayn-Wittgenstein-Berleburg (1907-missing 1944, declared dead 1969)
   +Richard, 6th Prince of Sayn-Wittgenstein-Berleburg (1934-2017)
          #Gustav,7th Prince of Sayn-Wittgenstein-Berleburg (b 1969)

* Christian-Heinrich, 5th Prince of Sayn-Wittgenstein-Hohenstein (1908-1983)

* Prince Ludwig Ferdinand of Sayn-Wittgenstein-Berleburg (1910-1943)
    + (7) Prince Otto Ludwig of Sayn-Wittgenstein-Berleburg (b 1938)
    + (12) Prince Johann-Stanislaus of Sayn-Wittgenstein-Berleburg (b 1939)
    + (17) Prince Ludwig Ferdinand of Sayn-Wittgenstein-Berleburg (b 1942)
          # (18) Prince Carl Albrecht of Sayn-Wittgenstein-Berleburg (b 1976)
          # (19) Prince August-Frederik of Sayn-Wittgenstein-Berleburg (b 1981)

nope, because they are not the main line to carry on the title, so that's good.

I made a mistake before, the father of August is late Richard's cousin, which makes August 2nd cousin to Gus.

And he has some Swedish nobility via his mother:

Yvonne, Countess Wachtmeister af Johannishus

Ah, Anna with the world's ugliest tiara (at least before they sold it at auction, I believe).  I'm shocked that Anna is only forty.  She seems much older to me for some reason.  Thinking. She looks so much like Amber, Mosh's friend.  Thinking

I have a question. Gustav 7th cannot marry his partner Carine Axelson because she is half Mexican and not of noble descent. And they don't have children, so who is the heir after Gustav dies?

Right now it’s Prince Robin, Richard’s younger brother, who is 80.  After that it is his son Prince Sebastian, who is 2 years younger than Gustav, but he does have children:

It says here that Sebastian married a commoner so he and his children aren't in contention either...
