I don't think anyone from Sweden is going. They have a state visit from Italy that day.

Nope, they are involved in the state visit too.  Wink

Yeah, that would have been epic!

Only because they would have been totally, completely out of their depth.

I think the European RFs should only send minor, third string royals to Charles’ do. After all, he rarely attends any of their events and his youngest brother is sent instead.

Rosecea doens't show up all the time. It can be exacerbated by too much time outside but it is perfectly possible to be very red one day and not red at all the next. That is what causes the redness in his face and hands. The swelling in his fingers have been with him since 14th November, 1948.
I dont think it's rosacea. I think it might be porphyria. Notice how it's only in the areas of his face that get sun? The part that's shaded by a hat is completely unaffected. Also, a while back I posted a 30 year  old article talking about the Duke of E's swollen red hands. Definitely something genetic.  SInce it's well known that at least one of his ancestors had porphyria, I'm leaning that way.

It has been well-known for years, even decades, that Charles has rosecea. The sun is known to exacerbate that condition so it isn't surprising that it shows up more in areas that get the sun.

While I see various sites speculating that he may have rosacea, it has never been confirmed. Porphyria, on the other hand, is confirmed in the blood line as George III famously suffered from it.

Also, I was just watching The Queen at 90 documentary, and Charles' hands are red, swollen and meaty there in England.  So it's not just hot weather that brings it on.

Didn't Queen Mary even comment on his horrendous fat hands as a baby? The rosacea seems to make it worse. I wonder if there are other health problems as well that we do not know about. It looks so painful.

Queen Mary commented on his 'sausage fingers' when first talking about him in November 1948. Philip has them as well.
