Some more news about the royal guests attending : -The Swedish royal Court confirmed today an invitation had been sent to but due to the Italian President official visit taking place on the same day, no member of the Royal family will be able to attend the Prince of Wales birthday. BUT - No official confirmation yet but the King and Queen of the Netherlands along with Princess Beatrix may attend. Sure there is an Austrian stat visit planned on the same day, but the King isn't hosting the State Banquet on the evening that day...the Prime Minister Mark Ruttewill. That's unusual, and may be very well be a sign W1 A + Queen Bea attending the birthday bash !

All I could think about reading that article, and reading about these numnuts and their plans for the future, was 'Shut up and cut ribbons, ok? Leave the world changing leadership to the competent'.

Amen. I mean, I get it - it's gotta be hell to be in the position that Mom has to DIE for him to get top spot, that he's hemmed in by constitutional restraints so he can't ever really do or say what he wants (though God knows he tries); but in the meantime, he enjoys incredible LIFETIME privileges and luxury paid for by the UK taxpayers, so... shut up, Charles.

That’s the trade off. Unbelievable luxury in return for a life of mind numbing dullness. Thems the breaks, Charlie.

Charles problem is that Elizabeth is doing such an exceptional great job and the majority of the British people never had or remember a time with another monarch. Just being that hard working at their ages makes it very special. She is a bit old fashioned, of course, but that is the special charme of the monarchy.
Charles might be 80 by the time he becomes king ... and if he is lucky he can work for ten years then - starting the job as a very old man and finishing it.

Charles earned major respect with his involvement in very good and relevant issues especially his founding of the Prince's Trust but also real environmental issues. It is easy to say he is a spoiled man and in many ways he is because of this weird life he was born into but good lord he has changed people's lives like for real and for that he gets a thumbs up from me. Also that video of him and Camilla getting their boogie on in Ghana made my day.

It’s remarkable IMO how two different royal families with pretty equal relation to the BRF would ‘play out’ the fact. The Norwegian (I suspect it to be mainly Sonia doings) would stress the relation in all possible way, and then the Swedish (almost) wouldn’t be bothered. (My observation for years, actually...) And so at Charles' majestic party we’ll have the highest possible representation from the NRF and none from the SRF...

Reportedly, Carl Gustaf and Charles are not very fond of each other. A Swedish reporter once said that CG thinks Charles is a bore with no sense of humour. No idea if this is true or just speculations, but the British and Swedish royals have always had a frosty relationship, unlike the Norwegians and British who are closely related and seem to be good friends.
And Charles didn't bother to go to CG's 70th birthday party in 2016 either, nor did he send any family members to represent Britain, so why should they go to his?
