When my in-laws celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary, my parents and mr Harleyís brotherís parents-in-law where also invited. Thatís done here in Denmark so to me itís not strange that the in-laws of their children would be present.

And it's not like they're paying for it, so what's a few more to add to the mix?  The Swedish taxpayer will be more than happy to pick up the bill for the shindig.

Sorry if my question came off as aggressive. I am currently in an uncharitable mood and anything to do with Sofia  brings out my inner ogre.

Because they were invited to the party Secret

I do hope Daniel's parents and Chris mom were also invited.

I would say they were. It is just that Daniel's parents are so "normal" and "down to earth" people that you would never dish on them. Limelight and fame does not mean anything to them.

Yeah I'm sure Daniel's parents are in and out of the palace and Haga all the time and no one even bats an eyelash, let alone take a picture.

A bit late but I've just caught up with the documentary for Silvia's birthday, and the "hyllning till Silvia" where each of her children made a speech. I have to say, though this family is dysfunctional as anything, the programme really warmed my heart as its so rare to see a royal be visibly moved by the love of her children, and praise of her husband. I think a few other royal families could take note about not being afraid to show emotion.
