I honestly couldn't care less ...

They will for sure not chose anyone from her family (and to chose the mother doesn't make sense).
I could imagine that the Palace will not accept any Hollywood, TV, Political or Sports figures, ceremonial role or not.
So that leaves Jessica from the choices above, but - seriously, a "servant"?
That's below Imelda's newly wedded dignity.

She would certainly also not allow Kate to steal her limelight as the mother of the second coming on that day.
Thus, my bet is on Zara, William and one of Harry's semi-noble club day friends, can't tell them apart.

If they would have four godparents, Eugenie could join the party as well. Especially as they could then ask her husband to do the drinks catering for the reception, which would consequently allow to invite the Clooneys just because.
(I bet that Imelda is really pissed that Clooneys twins are too old already - no playdates here in sight!)

I don’t have a single f*ck to give about who this poor child’s eventual godparents are.

The entire lineup will likely be some tacky, disgraceful list of American “celebrities” or celebrity hanger on’s. There will be little to no representation of Hazmat, which, I suppose, we must all get used to.

All that said, I wouldn’t mind seeing Peter Phillips given a nod.

Peter and Zara would be grand.
Maybe Zara’s husband? He’s given a few interviews saying good things about the Markle’s.
Her friend that just married the Jonas brother?

So my vote is

One of Harry's Paternal Cousins or a spouse of a Paternal Cousin
One of Harry's Maternal Cousins or a spouse of a Maternal Cousin
Edward Lane Fox

The Church of England requires/recommends three...two the same gender as the baby and one the opposite...royal typically do a few extra:

7: Prince Charles, Prince George
6: QEII, Prince William, Prince Louis
5: Princess Anne, Prince Andrew, Prince Edward, Prince Harry, Princess Charlotte, Princess Beatrice, Princess Eugenie, Lady Louise, James, Viscount Severn

Judging by the above 5 godparents would be OK...and if using my advice that leaves only two freebes.  Maybe Prince Seeiso of Lesotho...the co-founder of Sentebale.

I think she'll ask Charles to be godfather because, Helloooo, King. of. England!
Whether he would accept (I very much doubt it) is another story.

^^^ This is an interesting notion.  I've never heard of a grandparent being named as a godparent.  Is this a common thing anywhere?

Family members being named godparents seems common. My godfather is my uncle. But I don't think it's what the BRF does.

^ Actually, they do. In fact, I believe that Charles' grandfather George VI was one of his godparents. I'm sure there's info available listing all the godparents of the current BRF members.

Family members being named godparents seems common. My godfather is my uncle. But I don't think it's what the BRF does.

Aunts and uncles and grandparents as godparents isn't that uncommon, at least historically.

George V had his father's sister (Princess Alice) and his mother's brother (future Frederick VIII) as godparents. His maternal grandmother (Queen Louise) was one too.

Edward VIII had BOTH his grandfathers (Edward VII and the Duke of Teck) as well as BOTH grandmothers (Queen Alexandra and Princess Mary Adelaide) as godparents

George VI had his father's sister (Princess Louise)

Charles has his mother's father (George VI) and sister (Margaret)

They all have a slew of great aunts/uncles/grandparents in there as well.

So it just seems like the newer generation of royals don't follow the relatives-as-godparent precedent. (Insofar as parents, grandparents, siblings.)

I find choosing a grandparent a weird choice but hey, you do you! lol My child's godparents are a cousin of my husband's, and my best guy friend. Two people who are really good, solid folks who are also strong Christians who can provide a good example...that was important to us.

Andrew is godfather to Harry ( ) and Zara while Charles is godfather to Peter Philips.

Wasn't it rumored Anne was asked to be godmother to William or Harry but turned it down or was that press invention?  Huh?

It is kind of weird that Harry isn't godfather to any of William's children so I guess it won't be so shocking if William is left off the list for Baby Sussex (especially if the feud rumors are true)
