Can I say that I like Meghans dress?

Kate's reminds me of Laura's of Little House in the Prairie. Kind of old fashioned.

I like the dress too.  Almost a throwback to the 60s.  I'm into the retro stuff though.  I would have liked to see the dress without the coat.  It doesn't seem necessary for an inside reception.  Even Kate, owner of all coat dresses wore a normal dress for once.  Still didn't like it.

I love retro stuff.  Beer

Meghan's dress is definitely retro. It's most likely a sleeveless shift hence the coat. It needs a different jacket over it - something lighter and more fluid, not the Amanda Wakeley repeat she wore, which of course emphasizes her bump.
The dress is definitely evening wear, and better suited for the Morrocco trip or in place of that awful white shirt/black maxi skirt she wore for the Endeavor Awards. That said, I do like the dress, and that's not something I can usually say about Meghan's choices.

In terms of what was most appropriate to the occasion, Camilla, HM and Anne look best. I wonder how old Anne's outfit is.

The fun stuff is at the 2:00 mark. Harry and Smuggan greet PC and are ready to join him, HM and the others as they look at the regalia. You can hear Charles say “Stand right there,” while the rest of them go to inspect the items. Within seconds, an officer comes rushing to escort Harry and Smuggan away from the rest of the royals. They weren’t allowed to join the family at all during the walkthrough. Hmmmmmm..... Thinking

Maybe it was to be a photo ops for the direct heirs?  That’s my guess anyway.

You can just see how much it's killing her to have to stand back. Don't they know Meghan is the star?!?!

I suspect it's protocol, NBJ: the Monarch, current Prince of Wales, future Prince of Wales.

It was awkward: shouldn't Harry have known what was required of them? Thinking

I think he's still so used to tagging along with his father and brother he doesn't think about it.  He place has changed and it needs to click for him.

That’s how I read it, too - it’s bugging her big time to have to be shuffled off to the side, lol!  I love it!

This is truly bizarre. I was going to say that I might not have noticed it if I wasn't looking for it, but scrap that - it's so awkward and stilted that I definitely would have noticed. I also felt sorry for whoever was tasked with setting up the display - most of them gave it no more than a cursory glance.

On another note, it was lovely and a tad unusual to see HM in a short coat, but she can wear anything.

That was weird.  Harry seems to have been quite surprised that he wasn't to be allowed to tag along and look at those regalia pieces with the rest of his family.  I really think he doesn't grasp the reality of his new situation, and for this reason I cut Meghan some slack because Harry is the one who should be giving her direction about these matters and if he doesn't "get" it, he can't guide her.

Finally someone puts her in her place! To me this proves Charles is very aware of Tungsten’s camera-whoring, protocol-breaking ways and it was top-of-mind for him to ensure they behaved at this event.

Do you think it was Charles’ own initiative to tell Megmeme and Handbag to « stay there » or the Queen or perhaps William said something beforehand and forced Charles to do it? 🤔

Yup! I think they may have been inspired by a certain, steely Moroccan Protocol Lady. I can’t post in the Hazmat threads quite yet because I’m new, but here’s a video of the farewell last week from Morocco. Check out the Protocol Lady’s facial expressions at Meghan and at the end, check out Meghan’s face and actions as she gets into the car. Her face is like THUNDER. She is seething about the way the Protocol Lady put her in her place. Laughing

Today’s incident reminds me of that.
