Maggie looks like she attached door knockers to her dress. Some dresses were beautiful and some, yikes! I didn't watch the show, but like to look online at the dresses.  As far as red dresses are concerned, only (of the ones I saw) ones that were nice were Rosie, Jennifer, and Kirsten.

Lordy, lordy that dress. Door knockers were my first thought too.

Unsurprisingly I go for the classic, elegant looks.

Star for CoC quote "Might as well be naked women".

Quite a few of the ladies would have looked better had they covered their bosoms more and had shorter slits in their skirts, IMHO. We already know what you've got ladies, no need to show us. That goes for the guys too.

I'm not against trains on dresses - Zendaya's skirt made the outfit, and the smaller trains on other gowns were fine, but the one on Jada Pinkett Smith's gown was just a waste of material. The dress itself was statement enough.

True story - I didn't watch the show, and when I saw the headlines about Will Smith slapping Chris Rock over a comment made about Jada, I thought it was about the dress . . .  Snare

As for the guys, I have to say Wesley Snipes look was cringeworthy. T'would have been elegant if he'd just worn long pants.

It must be a generation thing because I thought so many of the gowns were stylish and perfect fashion.  Blush

My celebrity crush was also OUT OF THIS WORLD  Laugh bounce Timothee Chalamet was serving absolute perfection in his shirtless outfit!!

LOL. It must be. I thought these were Grammy outfits, not Oscar outfits. The palette cleanser on Twitter is the famous photo of Grace Kelley and Audrey Hepburn backstage at the Oscars in an earlier era. Soothing.

I have not seen all the dresses, but in general liked the simple, elegant dresses. The more sophisticated ones.

F.e. I liked Zoe Kravitz in her pink strapless dress; Kirsten Dunst; Vanessa Hudgens; Saniyya Sidney; Maddie Ziegler; Rosie Perez; Kathryn Boyd Brolin; Judie Dench

I thought it was a genuine moment of uncontrolled anger.   At first, for a few seconds you see Will Smith not taking the joke too seriously, but one look at Jada Smith’s face and you know she was very pissed off.   She will never be nominated for anything, so that joke about acting couples/nominations, hit her right where she lives.   I think it took Will S. a couple seconds to get it, and then he (over) reacted.

The mea culpa at the podium and the standing O were just as tacky and classless as the whole incident.

It is possible that Chris Rock did not know about the hair loss problem. Jada PS looks great and I would have thought she had chosen to shave her head. I wonder now if stand-up comedians will be afraid of being hit if they tell any joke that a bully or a Puritan (and sometimes they are the same) do not like it.

That last dress is an abomination.  Is that Lady Gaga?  She's seems like she's had some work done to her face...

I am now at the stage where I look at these pictures and don't know who so many of them are.  Some lovely dresses, but the whole shebang is not a patch on how it was years ago before politics crept in, and it was just about the glamour and the jewels and the red carpet.  I used to love buying People Magazine's Oscar's wrap-up edition, the only time I bought that magazine.

Kind of a bummer to see how it seems to have run its course.

Who is the woman in the navy dress?

I like Cara's look the best.
